Have you ever wondered what the crazy dream you had last night really means? For the past century, researchers have tried to discover the hidden truths revealed in our subconscious mind when we go to bed.

The fact is that while there are universal symbols that have generally accepted meanings, the meaning of dreams varies considerably from person to person.

There are some common dreams that most of us experience at some point in our lives. These dreams produce a range of emotions that can be interpreted and understood. These dreams typically fit into 7 specific categories:

1. Precognitive dreams: The specific details in the dream predict an important event, which is about to happen, or which will happen in the future. These dreams predict the future by using our sixth sense.

2. Warning: As the name suggests, these dreams generally warn of an imminent danger, unless you change certain actions.

3. Factual: These dreams are confirmation to the person dreaming of what they already know to be true. It can also emphasize a specific detail in a person’s life. They can reveal hidden truths about ourselves by way of symbols in our dreams.

4. Inspirational: Any dream, which inspires us to solve a personal or professional problem that we’re having. Inspirational dreams can be used as motivation for us to make positive changes in our lives.

5. Fulfillment of desires: In our subconscious mind, our desires generally manifest themselves in our dreams. If you wish to be a millionaire, you might have a dream, in which you win the lottery. They help our mind to confront our innermost desires.

6. Compensatory: Similar to the fulfillment of a desire, compensatory dreams occur as a way of satisfying something that is lacking in our lives. For example, if you haven’t had physical intimacy for a long time, you might have a compensatory dream about a rendezvous with somebody or having your sexual desires fulfilled.

7. Reconciliation: When we lose somebody in our lives due to a break up or death, we generally have unresolved feelings with those people. Reconciliation dreams are our subconscious mind’s way of dealing with losing people who have impacted on our lives.
