Face Acne Can Be Caused By Many Factors, And Each Area Indicates A Different Problem

We all know that different skin types require different care. Skin-care products are designed specifically for each skin type, every woman knows that. And, of course, you are familiar with the hygienic procedures that your skin type needs. But it’s possible to have acne breakouts and have no idea about their cause.

One reason might be improper skin care. There are many myths about treating acne, and many of them are very damaging. You must be sure that the method you use for treating acne is safe. Learn about do’s and dont’s in treating acne.

It turns out, acne on different areas of your face may be a sign of both internal and external problems that are sometimes hard to identify

Below is the list of problem zones on the face and what acne on each of these zones might mean:

1. Hairline

If you notice acne along the hairline on your forehead, the problem may lie in your skin-care and hair products. Some of them contain oil and other comedogenic substances (they clog or irritate your pores). It’s best to consult a dermatologist about the ingredients of your beauty products and maybe start using different ones.

2. Cheeks

Acne on your cheeks may be caused by the germs from your phone or pillowcase. Your phone can host millions of germs which can get on your face when you’re talking on the phone. This is why it’s recommended to clean your phone with antibacterial wipes before you press it to your face. And pillowcases need to be changed at least once a week, better even more often.

3. Jawline and chin

This is where internal factors are often at play. Acne on your jawline and chin may be caused by hormones: high levels of androgens, which make your oil glands overly active, hormonal changes brought on by upcoming period, or by changing or starting to use contraceptives (esp. oral ones). Some studies also link poor diet to acne on these areas.

4. Forehead and nose

Acne on these areas is usually caused by excess oil, because these areas have more oil glands than the rest of the face. Stress and sleep problems may also contribute to acne breakouts on the forehead and nose. It’s also in your best interest to refrain from touching your face to prevent germs from spreading there.

While making changes to your diet and trying different beauty products may help, it’s still best to talk to dermatologist to work out the best solution, especially if your acne is persistent.
