Valla Desam  Review

Director : Nandha
Star Cast : Anu Haasan, Nassar, Balasingh, Jayabalan

Anu Haasan's Valla Desam is yet another Tamil film with good idea and intentions but ends up as a tedious watch mainly due to the bland writing and amateurish making.

Valla Desam is all about a secret agent (Anu Haasan) who goes on a mission to London to arrest the most wanted international smuggler David. But David's henchmen wrongly understands that Anu’s husband as spy and kills him. Now, Anu’s only daughter goes missing... and she has to save her little one and the nation from the deadly David…

Anu Haasan has tried her best to justify the character given to her and we cannot blame her because filmmaking is a director's job and debutant Nandha’s dialogues are flat that the whole film looks lifeless. Some of the scenes shot in London roads, flashy cars, and costumes of gangsters are laudable.

Nassar has done his part well as a higher army officer while the rest of the actors are not up to the mainstream film viewing standards. Technically, music composer LV Muthukumaraswamy’s work is adequate and the cinematography is just okay.

The basic plot Valla Desam has the potential for an edge of the seat action thriller but sadly the problem is that it literally offers nothing new and execution is below average.
