Bayama Irukku  Review

Director : Jawahar
Star Cast : Jagan, ‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran, Bharani, Jeeva, Kovai Sarala and Reshmi Menon

Horror comedies are aimed to provide a wholesome entertainment with scary elements blend with slapstick humor to bring the roof down. But as they say, comedy is a serious business and if the director is not sure of what he s doing, things can always go wrong. Bayama Irukku is a namesake horror comedy which neither frightens you nor evokes any laughter.

Bayama Irukku is about four buddies (Jagan, ‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran, Bharani and Jeeva) who try to save their friend (Santhosh Prathap) from his wife who is a ghost (Reshmi Menon). The interesting twist here is that husband believes that his wife is still alive so the friends should convince him and to drive away the ghost, they meet an exorcist (Kovai Sarala).

Debut director Jawahar has tried to mix love, friendship, comedy and horror in one film but sadly, none of these powerful emotions worked out in favor of the film. People will not be afraid of VFX ghosts, the writing should’ve been strong and the performance should be top notch but Bayama Irukku is a below par film in terms of sripting department.

Sathya’s music is one positive aspect of the film and the locations in the river belts are another major highlight. To conclude, there isn't a single scene which is interesting.
