Kozhi Koovuthu Movie Review

It is the season of newcomers coming to the fore. Joining the list of debutant filmmakers in 2012 is K I Ranjith.

His Kozhi Koovuthu starring Ashok, Seeja Rose besides veteran Rohini, Bose Venkat and Mayilsamy is out.

It is a rural love story that speaks about romance between a poor boy and a girl from a rich family.
The troubles they face in their life forms the crux. Ashok who made his mark with Muruga presents a pleasant picture in Kozhi Koovuthu.

He shoulders major burden and executes his best.

Though it s a cliched storyline, the execution by Ranjith holds the key. They are poignant moments in the story that manages to sustain interest.

Newcomer Seeja Rose sparkles in her debut venture while the likes of Rohini, Naren, Mayilsamy, Bose Venkat chip in with their best.

The highlight of Kozhi Kovuthu is amazing camera work by Jayaprakash. The village terrain is captured well, while Ramaraj’s lilting melodies ring sweet sound in ears. Produced by Studio 9 and presented by London Javed, Kozhi Koovuthu revolves around Kumaresan (Ashok).

A poor youth, he makes life out of selling chickens. Its romance for him when he meets Thulasi (Seeja Rose). Daughter of Duraisingam (Naren), a big man in the village, love all her love and affection on her. Iyyanar (Bose Venkat), Thulasi’s uncle opposes their romance. He arranges for Thulasi’s wedding with their relative. Among all opposition, the lovers desire to get united. Did they succeed in their venture forms the crux. Kozhi Koovuthu is film to relish. Three cheers to the whole crew.
