En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom Review

Director : Jagan
Star Cast : Tamizh, Anandhi, Jayaprakash, Yogi Babu

Catchy titles aren’t enough to attract audiences to theaters, directors should adapt themselves to the trend and make films loved by the current generation. Director Jagan’s En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom would’ve become a hit if it released during early 80’s or 90’s but things have changed a lot now.

While catching a crowded bus, Sandhya (‘Kayal’ Anandhi) loses her slipper, she pleads the conductor to the stop the bus and says that slippers were bought by her dad. As the conductor refuses to stop, our hero (Tamizh), who is in love with Sandhya for a long time jumps from the running bus to get the slipper but it goes missing. Meanwhile, Sandhya’s dad(Jayaprakash) gets kidnapped in Syria and a Godwoman says that her dad will be safe as soon as she gets her lost pair of slippers. Will Sandhya get her slippers? Will Jayaprakash return home safely? And most importantly, can Tamizh impress Anandhi and wins her heart?

The main problem with En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom is the outdated treatment, the film’s protagonist Tamizh(Pasanga fame) is good but the rest of the actors are up to the standards and Yogi Babu is another great relief.

The story of En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom might sound novel for a short film or television series but to make it a feature film, we need an engaging screenplay, which is completely missing in Jagan’s script. Ishaan Dev’s songs are good and the background score by Deepan is also quite impressive.

To conclude, En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom is yet another half-baked experiment, as the director is not sure whether to approach his script in a full-fledged commercial route or artistic way, this film stands in the middle without establishing any big impact.
