Iravukku Aayiram Kangal Review

Star Cast : Arulnidhi, Ajmal, Mahima, Suja
Director : Maran

Debutant director Maran's Iravukku Aayiram Kangal is a decent crime thriller with too many characters, twists and turns. But the problem is the convoluted screenplay and an open ending climax for a sequel.

Call taxi driver Bharath (Ajmal) and Suseela (Mahima) are in love. Meanwhile, there is a womanizer Ganesh (Ajmal) who along with two girls Anitha (Vidya Pradeep ) and Maya (Suja) cleverly traps rich middle aged men and blackmails them to swindle their money.

As Ganesh constantly stalks Suseela, Bharath wants to teach Ganesh a lesson but to his surprise finds Maya dead in her house. Right before Bharath enters Suja's house, he sees Murugesan (Ananda Raj) which lead to more people getting involved in the crime. So who actually killed Maya? Watch Iravukku Aayiram Kangal to know more...

Arulnidhi as usual has given a subtle performance and picked a good story but the screenplay is not gripping mainly because of too many subplots and characters. May be, linear story telling could have helped the film and made it an entertaining mystery thriller but here things are a bit slow. Ajmal is a weak villain and his character and intentions are predictable and juvenile.

Aravind Singh's cinematography in the pitch dark night is a big plus and Sam CS' background score is another big advantage.

Overall, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal has a good story and it's a decent crime thriller but we wish the director could've handled the film in a better way, especially with the interesting list of actors and technicians on board.
