Mohini Review

Star Cast : Trisha, Yogi Babu, Swaminathan, Madhumitha
Director : Madhesh

Trisha's Mohini is a template horror comedy with familiar scenes, revenge angle and a relevant social message. The biggest attraction in the film is Trisha who not only looks good but carries the film on her shoulders.

Vaishnavi (Trisha) is very popular on YouTube for her cooking videos. Vaishnavi decides to go London to assist the fiance (Yogi Babu) of her friend in a bakery shop. But Vaishnavi gets possessed by Mohini (another Trisha) to take revenge against the evil men who killed her two years back. The film also handles sensitive topics like child trafficking and human sacrifice.

As said earlier, Trisha is at her best in Mohini with her looks, cute expressions and dialogue delivery. While Vaishnavi looks homely, Mohini got a stylish and bold makeover in the film. The comedy battalions Yogi Babu, Swaminathan, Madhumitha and Ganesh tried their best to bring the roof down and they succeeded in a few situations.

Vivek-Mervin duo has given foot tapping numbers for the film but Aruldev's loud background score for the below par CG works actually reduced the production value of the film which was actually shot in London.

Director Madhesh has used epigenetics concept and Nadichuvadi to justify the horror element in the film but the treatment and screenplay are quite familiar that Tamil cinema audiences have seen hundreds of films in this genre so experience wise the film offers nothing new.

Overall, Mohini is an age old horror comedy which can be watched only for Trisha.
