Evanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku Review

Star Cast : Vemal, Ashna Zaveri, Singampuli, Anandaraj, Poorna, Miya Rai
Director : AR Mukesh

Following the success of Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu, Tamil cinema has got yet another adult comedy in Vemal's Evanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku. But unlike the other two hit films, this one actually has a story but where things have gone wrong is in the adult comedy part. As actors like Vemal, Singampuli, and Anandaraj performs adequately and evokes good laughter in second half, Evanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku turns out to be a watchable film.

Hari (Vemal) and Giri (Singampuli) are colleagues who work together in a pharmacy. In the night, they become robbers but they steal only petty things. However, they land in trouble by going beyond their limits. Soon, both the partners in crime gets chased by a cop (Poorna), gangster (Anandaraj) and a horny NRI (Miya Rai) who wants Hari and above all his lover's (Ashna Zaveri) family also wants to wallop him. The rest of the film is all about how both Hari and Giri come out of all the trouble...

The film offers nothing new in terms of screenplay and execution. Justifying the title, Evanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku is filled with glamor, double meaning dialogues which works in a few places and falls flat in most of the scenes. The makers seem to have not spent much because the visual quality is below par.

Performance wise, Vemal and Singam Puli are just okayish. Ashna Zaveri has been used only for glam quotient and she doesn't have much scope. The film actually picks up only after the arrival of Anandaraj and his gang, they are the ones who lift the comical side of the film and scores well.

Technically there is nothing to praise in the film because the cinematography, music and editing departments are strictly functional.

Overall, Evanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku is an average adult comedy which works partly dude to the glamour quotient and double meaning dialogues.
