Sathru  Review

Star Cast : Kathir, Lagubaran, Srushti Dange, Ponvannan
Director : Naveen Nenjundan

Cop action thrillers are a favourite genre in Tamil cinema. Kathir who has been choosing content driven films is back with Sathru in which he plays an upright cop.

Kathiresan (Kathir) is a young cop who is known for his fearless attitude. he arrests the local MLA's son and doesnt spare his superior officer's (Marimuthu) son. In two years, Kathiresan gets suspended twice, thanks to his straight forward working style. When Kathiresan comes across a child kidnap case, he pins down one of the five criminals and successfully saves the kid. Pissed off by Kathiresan, the gang's head Prabha (Lagubaran) and four of friends take an oath to kill all the family members of the cop. Can they succeed?

The first half of the film moves at a rapid pace but the convenient screenplay and incoherent cuts affect the flow of the film. It seems like editor GK Prasanna has chopped off many unwanted scenes and songs to make the film racier. Heroine Srushti Dange has been only used like a junior artist while other supporting actors also fail to shine much.

Overall, Sathru is a functional cop thriller which has its moments and watchable for the racy presentation.
