The Real Brainteaser When It Comes To Delivering Packages

Finding the shortest distance between two points seems simple, but as points are added to a route, the process to precisely calculate the quickest way to get to all points becomes a real brainteaser.

The number of ways you can visit each point multiplies as the destinations increase. For example, with three points, there are only six possible routes, and with four points, there are 24 combinations.

With 24 combinations, you might still have a chance to figure out the shortest route, but once you get to five points, your mind might need some help from AI because there are 120 possibilities to maneuver through all stops. Once you get to nine points, the possibilities are equal to the grains of sand found in one kilogram. We assure you that is A LOT.

Imagine if you are a logistics manager routing numerous trucks through multiple points. If you don’t find the shortest distance between them all, you would be wasting time and resources, which could cost millions of dollars over time, on top of the cost of maintaining your fleet. Furthermore, in a real-world scenario, there are wrecks, construction, and other detours that create havoc on route management.

If you find yourself in this situation, don’t fret, there is software available that assists with optimizing routes, which is coincidentally called Route Optimization software.

Something needs to be done in a routing scenario that involves multiple points because American motorists waste $300 billion a year stuck in gridlock traffic, not to mention the wasted time, which in many cases is more important than money.

Best Road Trip Snacks To Stave Off Hunger

There’s nothing better than a family road trip until everybody starts to get “hangry.” Well, worry no more, here’s everything you need to feed everyone in the car.

If you’re planning to hop in your car and go on a road trip, then you’re in good company. In the US around 75% of all vacation-takers travel by car. According to CENEX, most people travel to visit family or friends, and one of the most popular destinations is Disney World and Yellowstone National Park.

With all that time in the car, you’ll need to be prepared with plenty of snacks. With these 19 road trip snack ideas, you’re sure to find something that everyone will love.

Even kids will like these options, way better than gas station burritos. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, try healthy fruit leather, apple chips or munchie necklaces for the little ones. If salty is more your taste, try salt & vinegar edamame or even homemade spicy Chex mix. It’s way better than store-bought!

Once in the car, people need something to do. If you’re bored, then you can always play classics like “I spy,” or “20 questions.” Stopping for little towns, shops, and unique restaurants adds interest to your road trip as well.  Who knows, you might discover the next big restaurant before everyone else!

If you plan on traveling, then avoid the unhealthy snacks by preparing these favorites ahead of time. Not only will everyone stay happy, but your waistline will thank you as well.

The Real Brainteaser When It Comes To Delivering Packages

Over the last 8 years, the number of social media users grew by the billions. Who are these users and where are they from?

With 3 billion internet users globally, nearly 45% of the world’s population is online. As accessibility grows in other countries, then we expect to see this number continue to rise. Technological advancements and lower cell phone prices enable users across the world to access social media platforms.

Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram continue to pull in the most significant amounts of social media users. In nearly all cases, the majority of people access these platforms via cell phone. In fact, 68% of people use their cell phones for Facebook, and a whopping 86% get on Twitter from their mobile.

This ease of use means that platforms, from Twitter to Pinterest, are multiplying. However, there are multiple social networks for people to try. We often think of the most popular platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. This infographic reminds of that there are 2.2 billion Google+ profiles and millions more on LinkedIn, Reddit, and Snapchat.

There’s no doubt that social media and internet use will grow. Unfortunately, there are still some areas where censorship holds people back from platforms like Facebook and Youtube. As years go on, then billions more people will experience the power of social media.

History Of IoT

IoT surrounds you every day, even if you do not notice it. What comes to mind first when thinking of IoT? Perhaps wearables or smart home devices like smart refrigerators. But IoT is not limited to them. You are likely to not even notice the presence of Internet of Things solutions in your life, but they are nearly everywhere.

Even though IoT started becoming more of a recognizable term in recent years,  its history has its roots in the 19th century. Back then nobody knew about IoT, and the only device that resembled modern communication devices was the telegraph. It provided people with direct communication and laid the foundation for interconnectedness.

The development of Internet of Things devices started with the appearance of computers in the 1950s. With the advent of networking and the internet, remotely connected devices paved the way for even more interesting and useful applications.

It seems as though there are endless possibilities for connected devices. Technology can complement nearly every task, from simple equipment status monitoring to complex remote management.

The growth of the industry triggered the establishment of research labs, conferences, and symposiums. As more and more data is gathered, companies have even more novel ways to approach IoT.

Instead of just connecting people, the internet and networking can connect things.  We’ve all been looking forward to smarter homes, let’s take a look at the progression in today’s infographic.

How To Fix Common Cooking Mistakes

What’s the worst nightmare of every Italian? Let me tell you – it’s overcooked or soggy pasta. What about food that’s too spicy or salty? Find out how to fix these rookie mistakes.

Things in the kitchen can go south really fast, and regardless of how experienced you are, there are some things you don’t have control of. Although the dish you messed up seems useless, you can easily fix it with some rather simple tricks.

Not many people know how to prepare pasta. Newbie chefs overcook it or make it soggy. Cook pasta like an expert by heating oil in a large shallow pan and add drained pasta. On the other hand, you should add plenty of salt to the water to prevent sogginess.

Did you know that dairy in your overly spicy dish will make the food edible again? Or do you know how to fix an uneven cake? If not, make sure you check out the infographic and learn how to fix all of the 21 most common cooking and baking mistakes, including soft, chewy cookies that don’t spread all over your baking pan.

An Eye-Opening Statistical View Of PS4’s God of War

Pre-release hype catapulted God of War into new gaming territory, as it became PS4’s fastest-selling exclusive game of all time earlier this year.

After its arrival in April 2018, it sold 3.1 million copies in the first three days. Now, several months into its release, we have a better idea of player preferences, and how often players actually win the game, which is not very often.

Kratos has equipment options galore, but the Runweaver Armor set has become the most popular, even though it is rare stock. Found at Thamur’s Corpse on the first visit, the battle gear can be upgraded twice, and consists of Runic Wrymskin Pauldons, Plated Runeweaver Bracers, and a Runeweaver War Belt.

These items are highly favored by the game’s elite players, along with the Talisman of Resolute Protection, which provides a three-second invincibility barrier when it is charged.

You will surely need these possessions, along with a fully-upgraded Leviathan ax and Blades of Chaos if you plan on meeting and defeating Queen Sigrun, the final Valkyrie.

Most folks don’t stand a chance against her, even with the proper gear. For every 25 battles, she wins 24, but in “Give me God of War” Mode, players win only 1 percent of the time, while the easiest approach garners success at a ratio of 12 to 1.

The highest-rated new PS4 release of all time is making history with a 94 on Metacritic, as gamers dive into battle to take on their enemies.

A New Corporate Leadership: The Chief Data Officer

We all know about notable CEOs, CFOs, and UFOs. But what about CDOs? This relatively unique position has gained importance given the constant data breaches and privacy issues major companies have had in the last few years. Want to jumpstart your corporate career? Maybe look into CDOs!
Basically, CDO is short for Chief Data Officer. This designates a worker responsible for the governance and use of data as an asset. To do this, CDOs use data processing, data mining, analysis information trading, and other means. CDOs usually report directly to CEOs, meaning that if you snag the job, you will spend a lot of time with the company leaders.

The whole CDO thing can be confusing, because Chief Digital Officer also shares the same acronym. Nevertheless, while the Chief Data Officer is in charge of major decisions like what data is kept and organized, the Chief digital officer takes care of the information systems through which data is processed and stored.

CDOs gained popularity in companies, mainly banks and insurance companies, after the 2008 crisis to ensure data transparency and quality for both risk management and analytic reporting. Several US Government branches have CDOs, as well as some European banks.

Even though CDOs are far more common in the US than in other latitudes, in 2014 France appointed Henri Verdier as Administrateur General des Données (CDO) of the French administration, making him one of the first country-wide CDOs. If you’re interested in questions like privacy, quality control, and data management, maybe a CDO career is in your future. Check out today’s infographic to know more about data officers around the world.

How To Become A Google Power User

Ahhhhh the secrets of search. These simple shortcuts can help you step up your Google game tremendously. I learned almost every one of these hacks during college. I’ve written hundreds of pages of reports and have used google to research thousands of different things. Utilizing these tools create a much easier way to navigate the web.

One of my favorite tricks for finding topical titles is to use the ‘intitle’ option. This search operator enables you to search for general words in the article and at the same time searching for a specific word in the title. Researching specific years of a companies history? Recipe substitutes? It’s so versatile.

As a marketing student during college I ended up researching a lot about local businesses. Using the ‘Location:’ search operator was a god send. Digging through sales history, or company growth was so much easier when unneeded geography was cut out.

Finally, the asterisk. The asterisk helps you when you have what I like to call a ‘brain fart’. Putting an * in place of a word you can’t remember. It’s wonderful when looking up lyrics or any titles. I * you guys learn a few time saving tricks from today’s graphic!

Wine, Dine, Burger Me

Whether you’re meat-eater, vegan, pescatarian, or vegetarian, most of us can appreciate a good burger.

(Welcome to Good Burger, home of the good burger, can I take your order? I couldn’t resist.) But, who says we have to pair our burgers with the typical shake or soda? That’s right! Folks are loving to pair their gourmet burgers with wine! There are plenty of pairings that just might tickle your fancy (and taste buds!).

The infographic suggests that if you want a bold flavor, perhaps you’d like to pair Barolo with your lamb burger. On the other hand, a chicken burger with some Chenin Blanc can really highlight the herbs. What about a combination of flavors? Maybe you could try your bacon cheeseburger with champagne instead of a lemon lime soda next time. We definitely can’t forget about our veggie lovers. Try a white burgundy with your portobello burger at dinner tonight to combine the creamy, silky flavors. Or, perhaps some tempranillo can bring out the earthy taste in your veggie burger tonight. The possibilities are endless. What pairings would you like to try?

Burgers and wines aren’t your fancy? That’s cool. Maybe some cheese pairings might interest you. But if you are down with the trend, let’s face it. Your burger and wine combination with that Reyes filter is going to look fantastic on your feed this weekend. Just saying.

Selling A House In The Future of Outer Space

Life on Mars would be different for humans in so many ways: breathing, eating, getting around. But what if we still sold houses in exactly the same way?

As this humorous infographic points out, perhaps humans are fated to continue their cliched old habits, even as we migrate halfway across the solar system. Maybe that will include cheesy, jargon-filled property listings, like this imaginary advert from ‘Space in Space’, designed to look like a Zillow or RightMove page.

Every detail has been considered: as the statistics on the right-hand side show, this house has been on the market since May 2, 2041. Nearby transport at the West Mars Space Station and Marston Rover Station has been helpfully included, and the illustration shows off the property’s beautiful transparent dome- presumably there to keep the air breathable.

As this listing is set in the future, the real estate jargon has been updated to match. The house has innovative amenities such as health scanners, artificial intelligence in the kitchen, gravity control, and a retractable glass roof, which are sure to provide its residents with an ‘out of this world’ experience. It’s hard to judge whether Marston, West Mars is an affordable or high-end neighborhood, since no one knows what £620,995 will be worth by 2041.  Location is still likely everything – back on Earth spending $500,000 on a house yields quite different results. But as this infographic demonstrates, one thing is clear: wherever humanity ends up, we’ll probably still be selling real estate.

40 Benefits Of Owning Pets

Who doesn’t love a furry friend? Or maybe a water-bound friend? Or a reptile friend? The possibilities (and benefits) are endless! What’s your reason to have an animal companion?
The American Pet products association calculated in 2016 that there were around 78 million dogs and 86 million cats owned in the United States. This means that approximately 40% of all households in America have a dog, and around 35% have a cat.

Pet owners cite benefits like preventing loneliness, encouraging exercise, and reduced anxiety. According to this infographic, the research shows that humans who own pets have lower resting heart rates.

Pet owning seniors reported 30% less call for medical treatment than non-pet owners. This suggests that the stress-relieving benefits of pets not only keeps us healthier but also saves money on costly medical expenses.

Nevertheless, more than 6 million pets enter animal shelters in the US every year. Even more heartbreaking news? Only around 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted, making shelters every day more crowded.

So what can you do? First, if you’re interested in a pet, look into adopting, especially from high kill-rate shelters. If you can’t commit for the long run, you can also foster! Volunteers are always needed to care for the ones that need one on one attention. If all else fails, you can always donate every penny counts!

There are many ways to find the right pet for you. The benefits of pet ownership make owning a pet a healthy life choice.
