In case of a midge bite, in practice, you can do the same things recommended for mosquito bites. But the most important thing is not to allow your kid scratch the place because it can only make the whole thing worse and get your child’s blood infected.




In case of an ant bite, the most important thing is to watch your child a few days after the bite. It’s how long it takes for the allergic reaction to reveal itself. But the treatment of an ant bite is practically the same as for the previous ones.

Mind that antihistamines are prescribed only if itching is incredibly strong and it affects the overall baby’s well-being. In case of any suppuration, it’s recommended to contact your general practitioner and apply antibacterial ointment.


A wasp, bee, bumblebee, hornet bite is a bit more dangerous, so if you notice your child has any of these signs, it’s a must to visit a doctor.

*chest pains and breathlessness.


First aid in case of a wasp, bee, bumblebee, hornet bite:
Carefully remove a stinger with tweezers or scraped off with a hard surface. Don’t remove it with your fingers, because you will only make things worse.




Rinse the area with soap to protect it from infection.

Do not let the baby scratch the bite!

In case the area gets swelled – cover it with something cold.

Give your child an antihistamine to reduce the allergic reaction.

And if there was more than one bite,or bites affect the child’s mouth and throat or your baby is below the age of 3 months, it’s necessary to call a doctor at once.
