Kasada Tabara  Review

Star Cast : Premgi, Regina, Shanthanu, Sundeep Kishan, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vijayalakshmi, Sangili Murugan, Sampath Raj, and Venkat Prabhu
Director : Chimbu Deven

Chimbu Deven's Kasada Tabara is a hyperlink anthology, which means each episode is interconnected with the characters from previous or upcoming episodes. He has meticulously written the script and extracted the best performances from all his actors.

Premgi Amaran, who has only played comic characters in the past plays a soft-spoken innocent guy without his usual mannerism, his romantic scenes with Regina Cassandra are impressive. Sampath Raj plays a badass gangster, who also has a loveable family side with his only son Shanthanu and a dutiful wife.

Sundeep Kishan plays an upright cop, who comes from an oppressed community and had to go through a rough patch with his wife (Priya Bhavani Shankar) due to his greedy superior officer Subbu Panchu. Then there is a doting mom Vijayalakshmi who struggles to save her only son. We also get to know a conman Harish Kalyan who uses his brain over brawn to make crores of money.

A family man (Venkat Prabhu)  faces death because of the incidents that happen due to the good and bad acts of the above-mentioned characters. Despite such a long list of actors and characters, the film is well-connected.

While the anthology approach gives a few hiccups in the narration method, it would've ended up brilliant like Maanagaram if Chimbu Deven penned it as a proper feature film. Despite the shortcomings, Kasada Tabara is engaging from the word go.

All the actors have done their parts well, which is another major highlight of Kasada Tabara. Leaving aside prominent actors, even Sangili Murugan, who comes for a few minutes in the film is impressive.

As the film has multiple editors, cinematographers, and music composers, each episode has a unique color and treatment.

To conclude, Kasada Tabara is an engrossing anthology mainly due to earnest writing and powerful performances.
