Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 Review

Star Cast : Santhanam, Rajendran, Urvashi, Shritha
Director : Rambhala

Santhanam's Dhillukku Dhuddu stood out from other horror comedies because of the spoof elements on the previously released ghost films and the actor's typical satirical comedy one liners. After all his mass hero films failed at the box office, he is back with the sequel of Dhillukku Dhuddu now to get back his lost form!

Vellai Viji(Santhanam) is an auto driver in Chennai who lives with his uncle (Motta Rajendran). The entire neighborhood hates both because of their late night atrocities and nuisance. In the same city, there is a psysio therapist Maya (Shritha Sivadas) and her strange condition is that whoever falls in love with her gets attacked by some strange supernatural power!! Karthik (TM Karthik), Maya’s boss is also the neighbor of Viji. Karthik sketches a plan and creates a situation and Viji and Maya start seeing each other. As soon as Viji proposes to Maya, he gets attacked by ghosts.

To get the consent of Maya's dad Garudaraja Pattadhari (Bipin), a black magician, Vjji goes to Kerala only to know more secrets about Maya and her mysterious condition.

Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 belongs to Santhanam. Right from the first scene to the climax, the actor tickles our funny bones and makes us to laugh throughout. This film also tells us how much we missed Santhanam's comedy in Tamil cinema, he should seriously consider returning back as the lead comedian or at least more genuine fun entertainers like Dhillukku Dhuddu series. After Santhanam, it's Rajendran who scores well and brings the roof down with his screen presence. Rajendran - Santhanam's combination is ideally the biggest strength of the film. The ever dependable Urvashi disappoints and other actors are just adequate.

The first half of the film is super fun with Santhanam and Rajendran's hilarious comedy episodes. However, once Santhanam reaches Kerala, the film loses the steam and gains back the momentum in the pre-climax episode. The last thirty minutes thoroughly entertains us which is another positive aspect about the film.

Technically, the CG shots are not up to the mark while the visuals and music are also just okay. Overall, Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 is a jolly time pass horror comedy. Fans of the first part will enjoy it more.
