Former Gourmet Food Magazine Editor Names Penang as One of the World's Best Food Destination

James Oseland, former editor of an international gourmet food magazine, was asked a very difficult question: Which cities are the top three food destinations in the world?

"Penang would definitely be the first," Oseland said.

Oseland said that he'd choose Penang as the best food destination in the world, followed by Mexico City and London. He also said that his favourite food is the nasi campur, nasi kandar, and chee cheong fun.

This is his fifth visit to Penang, which he also took the opportunity to learn how to cook nasi kenduri from famous local chef Sabira Ghouse. Before leaving, Oseland didn't forget to also say, "Pulau Pinang sentiasa di hati." which means "Penang will always be in my heart".

Surprise? We Malaysians knew that Penang is the best place for food all the while, but it's great to know that our food island has been recognised internationally as the world's best food destination.
