2. Temple of Hatshepsut

4. Karnak



Back to the village of Luxor, you can come across another irresistible ancient monument to visit. 5. Bent Pyramid



The Bent Pyramid is situated nearby Dahshur - a village in about 40 kilometers south from Cairo. This pyramid impresses through its unique shapes, which include two well-distinctive bases. The lower section of the pyramid (the base) rises at about 54 degree angle, while the upper section continues at an angle of 43 degrees. This smooth transition delivers a spectacular sight to witness, while the overall height of the pyramid of over 100 meters above ground is just fabulous. Especially when you keep in mind that the pyramid is bordered only by the pale yellow desert from below and the clear blue sky from above.

6. Abu Simbel   



In the southernmost area of Egypt and on the west bank of Lake Nasser is situated another famous ancient monument that you can't miss - the Abu Simbel temples. These two temples were carved out of stone in about 1260 BC and they are dedicated to Pharaoh Ramesses II and queen Nefertari. The exteriors of the temples are real masterpieces. 8. Red Pyramid
