Eetti Review

Director Raviarasu has designed Eetti to be an all-purpose vehicle that has romance, comedy, sports and action in heavy dose. What's shocking and sad is that there is so much talent here – and our heart goes out to Atharvaa, who invests so much of sincerity and tries his best to lift the film but is hobbled by a weak presentation.
With too many songs at regular intervals and bad placements, guess editor A.M.Raja Mohammed was sleeping, as the film at 144 minutes is tedious with plenty of unwanted comedy sequences of Murugadoss and his fascination for “aunties”!
Pugazhenthi Subaramaniyam (Atharvaa) has a rare bleeding disorder called thrombasthenia. Even a small scratch on him causes black-out and heavy bleeding. As Pugazh is an athlete, there is more jeopardy and the degree just gets bigger, as he earns the wrath of a deadly gangster (RNR Manohar) and his henchman Aega, who successfully circulates counterfeit currency notes across the state.
Pugazh falls in love with Gayathri (Sri Divya). Post interval the premise shifts from Kumbakonam to Chennai where Pugazh comes to attend the sports meet with his coach and locks horn with the villains. Atharvaa looks super comfortable in portraying the larger-than-life character, which is indeed a positive sign for the young actor’s career! Sri Divya is apt as his love interest. Villains are also adequate. Jayaprakash steals the show as a caring father and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren sparkles in the role of Atharvaa’s coach.
Though GV Prakash Kumar’s songs are hummable especially the Naan Pidicha Mosakuttiye which stands out. The background score too elevates the films to a different level. Another hero of Eetti is stunt choreographer Rajasekar, as the interval block and climax stunts are superbly choreographed. Cinematographer Saravanan Abhimonyu must also be lauded for adding the style quotient.
Overall, Eetti with its confused presentation is not an entirely unwatchable film.
