After Mumbai, the destination for Vijay and ARM is Kolkota, the city of Palaces. Their previous outing proved to be a marriage of style and action, only custom made to cater all classes of audiences. This hit duo has yet again joined hands for an action oriented subject, which still makes the onlookers do the guessing game on its storyline.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be pressing his luck and hard work on Kaththi, yet another movie titled on weapon after Thuppakki. With the teasers and posters, its hard to make out the specific style that the hero has adopted, but looks to be a movie not compromising on style quotient. Ever since the movie was announced, there were speculation around Vijay’s role in this movie and the posters and teasers have confirmed the dual role portrayal.

The gorgeous Samantha is teaming up with Vijay for the first time and rumors are that her role is quite meaty as well. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh makes his debut in Kollywood with Kaththi as the lead antagonist and this just makes things even spicier. Neil played Jiiva’s role in 2013′s average grosser “David” and is known for his stylish appearances.

Much has been speculated on the movie’s storyline: Aravind is a detective in Kolkata. He is given a tough time by the villain character played by Bollywood actor Neil NithinMukesh who chalks out violent conspiracies. Only at a later stage, Aravind comes to know that his real enemy is his look alike Andrew.  Vijay acts as Aravind and Andrew in the film. The cast also has EthirneechalSathish and prabhu in it.

Technically the movie is sound and why not, led by director AR Murugadoss who is fresh from the success of Holiday, the Tamil remake of Thuppakki is flanked by youngster Anirudh Ravichander who is not even 5 films old but already writing his own history on the musical front. As is the trend, Vijay will be crooning for one of the song and Dhanush has already completed one number. Cinematography by George Williams is said to be another major plus with shoot around the rugged and posh regions of Kolkota.

Well, the teaser which got released a few days ago is already rocking the media for its unique portrayal and the makers of the movie Ayngaran International & Lyca International will be sparing no hair in marketing this flick during the festive season of Diwali which falls on October 23.

Vijay to fight with a brainy Villain in ‘Kaththi’

Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh who plays the villain role in actor Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Kaththi’ says he has sport a leaner and sharper looks for the film. For this the young actor has reduced 10 and a half KG and about four and a half inches on the waist. He has also made sure that the puffiness on the face goes down so that he looks much leaner for the character.

Speaking about his role in his maiden Tamil film directed by A.R.Murugadoss, Neil said it is not a typical villain role. It will be an extremely polished character of a North Indian who speaks Tamil well read and a foreign return. As the villain he does not fight with the hero with his brawn and uses his brains to wreck havoc to the hero.

Neil has also learned Tamil for the character he plays in the film and says it was an interesting experience to learn language.

Speaking about Vijay, Neil said, he could not believe that he is working with a superstar. Because Vijay is very humble, friendly, supportive and encouraging n the sets.

‘Kaththi’ is slated for a Deepavali release and it has Samantha as Vijay’s love interest.

'Kaththi' is getting sharpened

AR Murgadoss' Ilayathalapathi Vijay's action packed Kaththi is in the final stages of shoot. The final schedule of the Vijay-Samantha starrer will start from August 1in Chennai. This schedule will go on till August 15 and with that the entire talkie portion will be wrapped up.

After that, three songs tuned by Anirudh are left to be shot. One song will be shot in North India and the remaining two songs are likely to be shot in Europe. Anirudh has said that Kaththi will be his best album till date.

Producers of Kaththi, Lyca and Ayngaran International are planning for a grand audio launch by mid-September in London. A teaser also will be launched at the event.  AR Murugadoss is making sure that the movie will release for Deepavali as planned.

Meanwhile some pro-Eelam Tamil organisation has objected to Vijay and ARM doing a film for Lyca Productions after rumours started that it was supposedly owned by Sri Lankan president Rajapakse's close aide.

Last Friday a group of students went to South Indian Film Chamber and made an official complaint and calling for a ban on Kaththi. So things are really sharpening for Kaththi which is slated as a Deepavali release.

Anirudh to record Vijay's song for 'Kaththi'

Vijay Kaththi is one of the highly anticipated movies in Kollywood. It  brings back the successful Thuppakki  pair of AR Murugadoss and Vijay.

 Music Sensation Anirudh is composing music for the movie. The expectations are sky high since this is the first time; the young composer is doing music for a a big hero film.

Anirudh is almost done with the album and he has promised lot of surprises in the album. Today no album of Vijay’s movie is complete without a song in actor’s own voice. Anirudh is getting ready to
record Vijay’s song in Kaththi in the next few days.

Surprise for Vijay fans from team ‘Kaththi’

‘Kaththi’ is leading all the online polls so far from being the most anticipated movies of this year, and the team ‘Kaththi’ has silently progressed towards completing the movie of this month. Apart from releasing a motion picture teaser for Vijay’s birthday (June 22) nothing has come out from the arsenal of A.R. Murugadoss.

The teaser was welcomed by one and all, despite of  carrying some similarities to an advertisement campaign run by a Turkish newspaper. Exactly after two months, the team ‘Kaththi’ has released a new picture today to fulfill the expectations of ardent Vijay fans. The audio release function is slated to happen by mid September, and Vijay will be crooning a song once again. A double treat is assured for the fans of Vijay for this Diwali.

Vijay's 'Kaththi' is getting sharper

Vijay and Samantha’s Kaththi directed by AR Murugadoss is on the verge of completion. The audio launch is being planned for mid-September and it may happen in London, the home town of its producers.  But still official confirmation is awaited.

Team Kaththi released two brand new posters last evening as part of the promotional campaign.  One of the posters is a romantic still on the lead pair and the other has a grim faced Vijay, the typical angry young man look.

The posters went viral in social media as soon as they were released. Kaththi’s team will meet the press next week to provide certain clarifications. Some Tamil groups are protesting against the movie’s release since they allege the producers Lyca Productions have a link with Sri Lankan Government.

Meanwhile, Kaththi unit is set to visit Scotland to shoot a song soon. The film has music by Anirudh.

Kaththi audio launch on Sep 18?

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s next movie Kaththi directed by AR Murugadoss was rumoured to have an audio launch in London.  Now as per sources, Kaththi audio launch will happen in Chennai around Sep 18-20 at the Leela Palace Hotel.

Team Kaththi has planned the event to be different and extra special. Young Musical Sensation Anirudh has done the music for Kaththi. As with most of his recent movies, Vijay will also sing a song for the album.

The expectations are already sky high for the album. Samantha is paired opposite Vijay in the movie for the first time. Kaththi is slated for a Diwali release.

After completing a high octane stunt sequence involving Neil Nithin Mukesh & Ilayathalpathi Vijay in Chennai, the ‘Kaththi’ team is all set to go to Hyderabad to shoot the remaining talkie portions. The final schedule is expected to get over by September 15th, as the team have announced the audio release will be on September 18th in Chennai.

‘Kaththi’ features Samantha, Vijay, Neil Nithin Mukesh, and Sathish in lead roles. The makers have decided to release the movie for Diwali for sure even if if they collide with Shankar’s ‘Ai’. ‘Kaththi’ gets caught on the wheel of trouble

Ever since the release of the motion picture, team ‘Kaththi’ has encountered lots of issues, and they just not seem to come to an end. At first many claimed that the motion picture teaser is a rip off from New York Times ad. Then a few organizations have raised concerns about the involvement of, Lyca productions, and alleged that; Lyca is indirectly helping Rajapakshe.

The producers have decided to launch the audio in a grand way at Wembley, London, and pulled off the trigger at the last moment by changing the venue to Leela Palace, Chennai. Albeit the change in venue, the makers are planning a grand event and many celebrities are expected to attend the function. Lyca’s C.E.O Subhaskaran will meet the press prior to the audio launch, and the release of the film for Diwali will be highly doubtful, if he fails to prove his company is not associated with the Sri Lankan President.

Insiders reveal that, Vijay has requested the CM to give permission to stage the audio launch of ‘Kaththi’ and awaiting a positive response. As of now, too many dark clouds have surrounded the most anticipated movies of the year, and we hope Vijay and his team will break all these barriers and come victorious!

ARM in Trouble for ‘Kaththi’?

It is tough time once again, for the ‘Kaththi’ team, as they are posed with a whole new trouble this time. ‘Kaththi’ is produced by Lyca Productions and directed by AR Murugadoss. A person seems to have filed a complaint against AR Murugadoss, claiming copyrights violation over the story of ‘Kaththi’.

Earlier, the ‘Kaththi’ team was put in deep trouble citing that Lyca Productions has a close connection with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. On this regard, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is to approach Tamil Nadu’s Hon’ble Chief Minister Jayalalithaa seeking protection for the audio launch of ‘Kaththi’, scheduled on September 18th. With the film’s release impending this Diwali, everybody is looking forward to Murugadoss’s answer to the lawsuit filed against him. ARM confirms 'Kaththi' for Diwali

While many people are speculating whether Kaththi will release for Diwali, director AR Murugadoss has posted a status update that Kaththi's first half is fully complete and the second half is nearing completion.

At present, the final schedule of the talkie portion of Kaththi is going on. After this, the team is going to Europe to shoot couple of songs with the lead pair Vijay and Samantha.

Meanwhile, in Chennai music director Anirudh is busy giving final touches to Kaththi's music album which will release on September 18. The makers of the film are particular that Kaththi will release on Diwali as announced earlier.
 
Recently, actor Vishal also reconfirmed that his Poojai has started theater bookings and will release on Diwali. And Producer Aascar Ravichandran is making plans to release Ai for Diwali in a big way.

Vijay croons for 'Kaththi'

It has become a regular feature for Vijay to sing in his movies. Whether it is "Google, Google..." in Thuppakki or "Vanganna, Vanakkaganna..." in Thalivaa or "Kandaagi..." in Jilla, all songs sung by him have become chart-busters.

Vijay has done it again with his upcoming movie Kaththi. Young music sensation Anirudh has recorded the song in Chennai. Lyricist Madhan Karky has written the song – “Let’s Take a Selfie Pulla...”, is a kuthu number.

Anirudh tweeted a picture of him and Vijay last evening and it went viral in social media within a few minutes. Meanwhile, Anirudh is almost done with all the songs and the audio will be released at

A.R. Murugadoss’s big update about ‘Kaththi’

In spite of having an account in the social media, A.R. Murugadoss does not update stuffs often, but this morning, the maverick director has got a couple of things to say about ‘Kathti’ – Kaththi first half is completely ready & 2nd half nearing completion..

The team is currently stationed in Hyderabad for the final schedule, and expecting to complete talkie portions around September 15th. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to sell the audio rights while the plans for an audio release on September 18th is well & truly on.

After this schedule, Vijay & Samantha will fly to Europe to shoot a couple of duets, and an official teaser will also be out in a week or two.

Eros Music snaps 'Kaththi' audio

Bollywood Production house Eros which specializes in production and distribution of Hindi movies in overseas markets, is venturing into south Indian audio market.

They have snapped up Vijay's upcoming release Kaththi's audio rights for a fancy price.

Young music sensation Anirudh has composed music for Kaththi.

Recently, superstar Rajinkanth's daughter Soundarya took up a position in Eros Digital South. Also Kaththi's co-producer Ayngaran has a tie-up with Eros for movies distribution.

It is to be a ‘Kaththi’ Diwali after all!

AR Murugadoss much look forwarded movie is ‘Kaththi’. Vijay, Samantha, Neil Nithin Mukesh, Sathish and many more stars will be a part of the cast in this film and the music composer for this film is Anirudh while the production is handled by Lyca Production. A case was filed against Kaththi saying that it was being insulting to particular religions, but the cases have been dissolved and the problems erased with no further ado.

The release of this film was having a few setbacks with cases being filed against it and now it seems like all the problems have been solved. The film has reached its final stages of shoot and will be released on Diwali as per schedule. The audio release for ‘Kaththi’ will be on the 18th of September and is one of the most awaited albums of the year too. Everything has been cleared and the movie is set for a smooth release and the details about the audio launch will be released shortly! Also, the audio rights for the music of ‘Kaththi’ has been bought by EROS music for a tremendous 3 crores. This is still a rumour, but if true, it is the highest valued Tamil album ever!
