Anirudh ropes his favorite singer for ‘Kaththi’

Anirudh has flown all the way to Mumbai to record Vishal Dadlani for ‘Kaththi’. The pair has delivered a mind blowing track ‘Penne Penne’ in ‘Vanakkam Chennai’ is back to produce one more Chartbuster. Vishal is all praise for Anirudh and quoted the below message on his personal page

Anirudh is pretty much of sure of ‘Kaththi’s audio success and roped in the best of singers for this highly anticipated album. The album consists 5 songs and 2 themes and Eros International has bagged the audio rights for a whopping price. The audio release function will take place on September 18th in Chennai and the venue is yet to be announced.

Expectations are sky-high as AR Murugadoss and Vijay join hands for the second time with Kaththi after a successful outing in ‘Thupakki’.Kaththi also marks the combination of Murugadoss-Anirudh and Vijay-Samantha for the first time. The audio got released amidst huge excitement from the fans and let us find out how the album has turned out:

Pakkam Vanthu

Singers: Anirudh, Hiphop Tamizha
‘Pakkam Vanthu’ is Anirudh’s show all the way!
The song starts off with the rap portions by Hiphop Tamizha which would take some time to get used to but Anirudh – the composer & the singer dominates the show after 1:00 especially with the interludes woven with funky beats and nadaswaram portions. It is very clear that Anirudh has tried out an experiment with rap-traditional fusion and it sounds highly fresh and innovative. The song raises its tempo as it progresses and ends as one of the ear-catchy numbers of the album.

Paalam

Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Shwetha Mohan
Probably the weakest song in the album!’Paalam’ marks the first time collaboration of Shankar Mahadevan and Anirudh. Except for the sudden bursts of energetic and high-pitched portions, the song falls flat during the remaining portions. Might improve with repeated listening and the visuals!

Kaththi Theme

Instrumental
Hugely popular among youngsters and Vijay fans owing to the teaser that got released several weeks back. ’Kaththi Theme’ is a minute long instrumental that has some caller tune worthy portions followed by miniscule vocal rendition of the title ‘Kaththi’.

Selfie Pulla

Singers: Vijay, Sunidhi Chauhan
Already hugely popular, thanks to the social
media and as a result of that we could already see people using the term ‘Let’s take a Selfie Pulla’ everywhere. The title hook of the song is pretty addictive but the song does follow the pattern of songs like ‘Kattu Kattu’ & ‘Gandi Baat’. Vijay does an impressive job with
his singing and seems to have had lot of fun while singing this number. The lyrics do focus on the current generation common terms like Instagram, Photoshop much along the lines of Google Google. Get your dancing shoes on!

Bad Eyes

Instrumental
After providing several noteworthy instrumentals in movies like 3, Ethirneechal & VIP, Anirudh continues that trend in ‘Kaththi’ too. The ‘Bad Eyes Villain’ theme music has an interesting array of instruments like veena, pan flute along with an extended fusion of ‘jadhis’. Sounds similar to Snoop Dogg’s ‘Wiggle’ in parts but overall, this track gives an enthralling feel.

Nee Yaaro

Singer: KJ Yesudas
KJ Yesudas is on a roll this year! Having sung a stupendous song in Sigaram Thodu, he is back in action with ‘Nee Yaaro’. Anirudh who had delivered ‘Amma Amma’ in his previous movie has delivered another song in the same mould. The high pitch portions in the charanam are sung with a grace that could be matched by very few behind the microphones. Minimal instruments and more emphasis on lyrics and raagas is a different type of offering from Anirudh.

Aathi

Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Anirudh
‘Aathi’ is undoubtedly the best track of the album. Vishal Dadlani’s Tamil diction is a bit off but the tune compensates for that with its instant catchiness. The guitar work that comes during the second interval is Deep Purple-ish and deserves applause.  The ‘Un Azhagil En Idhayam’ hook is certainly the high point of the song. Anirudh excels in his attempt at soft rock!

On the whole, ’Kaththi’ has an interesting collection of several chartbusters along with experimental tracks and instrumentals. The peppy and the instantly likable tunes would work wonders for the movie if they are used properly.

'Kaththi' audio to be launched today

The D-Day has finally arrived. Ilayathalapathy Vijay and AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi audio is being launched at the five star Leela Palace today evening Kaththi’s teaser also will be launched during the function.

Young Musical Sensation Anirudh has composed the music for the movie. A great mix of singers including veteran singer KJ Yesudas, Vijay, Anirudh, Shankar Mahadevan and several others have sung in the album.

Kaththi songs are already released in Apple iTunes and are climbing the charts. All issues pertaining to Kaththi have been sorted out. The producers of the film  explained in detail and issued  point by point rebuttal regarding the allegations made against them at a press
meet.

 A Subaskaran and K Karunamoorthy of Lyca Productions have confirmed Kaththi release for Diwali. Jaya TV will be exclusively covering the audio event.

Kaththi is the first south Indian movie music album to be bought by Eros Digital South headed by Soundarya  Rajinikanth. Lot of celebrities and industry insiders are expected to attend.

Simbu’s friendship with Dhanush & Anirudh is a well known one and lately this bunch of boys is having a great time by hanging out together,  and appreciate each others’ work publicly. Jaya TV snaps ‘Kaththi’?

It seems like Jaya TV is in on a spree to snatch big movies and sources say they have bagged the rights of Vijay – Samantha starrer ‘Kaththi’. Recently, they have acquired the rights of the event of the decade ‘I’ audio launch and the post production work is currently happening in full swing to air the event on a special day.

Early this year, Sun TV had bagged the rights of Ajith’s ‘Veeram’ and Vijay’s ‘Jilla’ and this move from Jaya TV could be a masterstroke to keep both the biggies which is slated to release for Diwali. Selfie Pulla to take place on..

As expected, ‘Selfie Pulla’ from ‘Kaththi’ has swept everyone off their feet, and marched majestically to the top position in no time. ‘Kaththi’ trailer is ready

The official twitter handle of ‘Kaththi’ has announced that the movie has been wrapped up and the trailer is also ready. A.R. Murugadoss will be announcing the release date for the trailer in a day or two, and to add more colors to the festival of lights is well and truly on! The team ‘Kaththi’ was stationed in Mumbai to shoot the much expected ‘Selfie Pulla’ in a huge set, and they are done with it this evening.

Vijay will be seen in dual roles after ‘Azhagiya Thamizhmagan’ and Samantha is paired opposite to him for the first time. 'Kaththi' wraps up its shoot

The shoot of Actor Vijay-Samantha’s Kaththi was wrapped up yesterday in Mumbai.  The director AR Murugadoss shot the “Selfie Pulla” song in a huge set erected in Film City in Mumbai with several dancers.

With this, the shoot which was going on for the last several months mostly in Chennai and Hyderabad has come to an end.

 Kaththi is slated for a Diwali release.  AR Murugadoss has also completed the trailer work. The trailer is likely to release two weeks before the movie releases.

Music  director Anirudh has locked the BGM for the first half and is currently working on the second half. Songs of Kaththi are already topping the charts.

The producers of Kaththi have already closed few deals for distribution of Kaththi in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Post production should be completed  in the next couple of weeks and Kaththi should go for censor mid-October ahead of its Diwali release.

‘Kaththi’ confirmed for Diwali all over the world

The Telugu rights of ‘Kaththi’ have been acquired by, Tagore Madhu, and it was reported that he will be releasing the movie after Diwali. But he has confirmed that he will be bringing the Telugu version along with the worldwide release of Tamil version. Meanwhile, ‘Kaththi’s shooting has been wrapped up with the ‘Selfie Pulla’ shoot, and the post production works are happening in full swing.

‘Kaththi’ is the second outing for A.R. Murugadoss with Ilayathalapathi, and Samantha will be romancing Vijay for the first time. The teaser has received a positive response, and A.R.M is looking for a right time to air the theatrical trailer. Vijay in 3D for Kaththi

Yes, you heard it right; Vijay will be seen in 3D avatar for the action arcade game that has been launched for the Android mobile users. Promotion is a big aspect of any big budget movies and with the amount of smartphone users spiking, it’s only evident that launching a game with the movie’s theme would make sense.

Kaththi’s 3D game features Vijay going around kicking the goons in an all arcade and action style. ‘Kaththi’ to extend its overseas base

Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ is just a stone’s throw from getting released and the makers are readying its international distribution rights. Vijay has quite a decent fan following in AP as well; no wonder the Telugu distribution rights are already finalized. For its International release, Ayangaran International will be taking it to a wider geography.

Sweden, Holland, Denmark, Germany and other European countries too will have enough screens of ‘Kaththi’ and this will be quite a record for a Tamil Film. Vijay’s movies are quite a sensation in USA and Canada, with the extended market the actor’s star value has just gone up. ‘Kaththi’ is directed by AR Murugadoss and also has Samantha and Neil in the lead cast.

Vijay's 'Kaththi' trailer soon!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s AR Murgadoss directed Kaththi is getting ready for a Diwali release. The last song Selfie Pulla was recently shot on Vijay and Samantha in Mumbai.

The first part of the film up to interval has been completed including post-production work. Now post production work is going on for the post interval part and first copy should be ready by October 10 or 12 latest. The film will be censored before October 15.

Now a full trailer of the film will be released in the next few days, probably by the end of this week. The exceptation from the trailer is sky high as the film gets ready for an October 22 Diwali release.

'Kaththi' to have a record release in Kerala and Europe

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s AR Murgadoss directed Kaththi is getting for a Diwali release. Most of the areas are already sold both in India and overseas.

The distributors have started booking theatres for Kaththi as other Tamil movies such as Vishal’s Poojai and Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year are also planning to release for Diwali.

Kaththi’s co-producers Ayngaran who are pioneers in Tamil movie distribution in UK and rest of Europe have confirmed Kaththi will have a record number of overseas screens .

Kaththi’s Kerala Distributor Shibu of Thameens has confirmed that they are booking nearly 200 screens in Kerala a new record. Shibu is also getting attractive terms from theatres.

In a place like Kochi, Kaththi is going to carpet bomb, with a record 7 to 10 screens. With the number of screens going through the roof, one can certainly expect a huge opening for the movie all over.

London Comes to Mumbai for ‘Kaththi’

When it is a mass hero’s movie, what not is done. While we sit in nail biting anticipation for ‘Kaththi’, a source has just revealed certain nuance in the film. For one song, director Murugadoss has recreated the ambience of London in Mumbai, at whooping cost of 2.5 crores! The team had created the set that resembled London city, and hired a hundred dancers to shake their legs in unison, in Mumbai; and all that, just for a song! The total budget for the film is well above 50 crores.

Due to this song shoot, it is buzzed in the cine circle that next to director Shankar, Murugadoss will snap the title for creating opulent films. This apart, there are news that the budget for Vijay’s next will escalate to a cool 100 crores for his next flick.

Will ‘Kaththi’ release before Diwali?

The distributors across the South India have put in a request to the makers of ‘Kaththi’ to release the movie on Oct 17th itself. Given the expectation for the movie; the trade sources are quite assured of a super hit in the making, and the 10 day run from Oct 17th to the Diwali weekend might fetch them a whopping profit.

Vishal’s ‘Poojai’ has already booked 350 theatres across the state, and Jayam Rav – Trisha starrer ‘Boologam’ also looking to take part in the Diwali race. Back in 2012, ‘Thuppakki’ was supposed to release 4 days prior to Diwali, but it came only on the big day. An official confirmation regarding the release date is expected to come in a day or two.
