JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhkai Movie Review

Director: Cheran
Cast: Sharwanand Nithya Menon, Prakash Raj, Jayaprakash,Santhanam
Producer: Cheran

Cheran's JK Ennum Nanbanin Vazhkai is a breezy feel good film with colorful visuals, enchanting score and well sketched characters.

As the name suggests, the film is all about Jaya Kumar aka JK (Sharvananth) and his unique way of approaching life. Unlike Cheran’s earlier works, JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhkai is a very vibrant movie which is filled with a lot of feel good moments and positive aspects of life with inspiring narration that given an endearing movie watching experience.

Cheran has scripted the film in such a way that there are some well written characterizations and excellent depiction of human relationships. The poignant bond between JK and Nithya (Nithya Menon) is easily one of the best written tracks between a male and female lead in Tamil cinema, one can’t call it romance or friendship or classify it under any regular relationships. It’s good to see a director giving such good scope to the heroine, also full marks to Nithya Menon for making use of a solid role.

The dialogues in the film are sharp and trendy that the last few minutes interactions between Nithya Menon and Sharwanandh are class apart, writer S Ramakirshnan must be lauded for his brilliant dialogues.

JK Ennum Nanbanin Vazhkai is also filled with eye grabbing characters including a mute inspirational artist Manobala, a practical business Prakash Raj who is okay in destroying a good guy as he bringing in loss to every other businessman in the industry.

Performance wise, Sharwanand has done a commendable job that he shines in the emotional sequences with sharp looks but the actor must work on his Tamil dialect as it sounds alien. Nithya Menon has once again proved that she is an awesome performer and she has done a phenomenal work as an independent urban girl in the film. Santhanam has done his part well with his usual comic one liners and Prakash Raj looked good in the short yet powerful role given to him.

Cinematography by Siddharth is brilliant that the entire film looked so colorful and vibrant. The film also has some good music, thanks to GV  Prakash and Siddharth Vipin as their music gelled well with the film’s flow.

Overall, JK Ennum Nanbanin Vazhkai is one of the best works of Cheran and we recommend this for all feel good movie lovers.
