While one group wanted the two to come along, the other stood firm in its perception that after all the passion quickly followed by bitterness, Silambarasan and Nayanthara will never join hands again. But the director who bagged the National Award already in his debut, silenced all the crowd by signing in Simbu and Nayan for ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’. Director Pandiraj set the ball rolling late last year, and is almost done with the talkie portions already. While Nayan joined the crew in November last, the film’s second heroine – or an extended guest appearance – joined the crew this month, in their last schedule of shooting with dialogues. It was earlier buzzed that Taapsee would play the second heroine, but Andrea Jeremiah was finally signed in to play this role.

The crew had earlier divulged that telephonic conversations will play a crucial role in the film, likening it to the conversations like in Ajith’s yesteryear blockbuster ‘Kadhal Kottai’. Now, there is more insight into the film that Andrea plays Simbu’s love interest in his past – when he’s portrayed as an IT professional – and will feature as flashback. Further to these, the film has Pandiraj’s lucky mascot Soori and Santhanam on comedy, and Jayaprakash is also a part of the cast crew. Balasubramaniam cranks the camera for this film, which is produced by STR’s home banner Simbu Cine Arts. The film also contributes to the talent base of Kollywood, as Silambarasan’s younger brother Kuralarasan debuts as the music director with ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’.

Given the star cast, it is inevitable that rumours fly around. But both Simbu and Nayan have been diplomatic about the whole issue, while brushing aside such feed, yet maintaining a healthy friendship, strictly on the professional front. With only a little more left to be shot and snipped right, ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ is inching close to the day when K-town audience can enjoy and laud the Simbu-Nayan on-screen chemistry once again, thanks to Pandiraj’s meticulously planned schedules.

'Idhu Naama Aalu' is gearing up for release

Pandiraj’s Idhu Namma Aalu (INA) starring Simbu and Nayanthara is gearing up for a release. Yes, team INA has completed the post-production works of the film and once the songs are ready, they will be announcing the audio launch date.

 Pandiraj tweeted “#IdhuNammaAalu Edit / Dub / FX / Color Correction completed. Waiting for Songs@balasubramaniem #INA”.

Produced by Simbu Cine Arts, Idhu Namma Aalu has music by Simbu’s brother Kuralarasan and it is debut album as a music composer. The film also has Andrea Jermiah in a cameo role while Santhanam and Soori are taking care of comic portions.

Mean time, Simbu’s Vaalu is also ready and the producer is looking for a February release.

Kuralarasan delays 'Idhu Namma Aalu' teaser?

Kuralarasan, brother of Silambarasan is debuting as a music composer in Idhu Namma Aalu which is directed by Pandiraj. The film started rolling in January 2013 and is yet to be complete.

The director earlier posted on Twitter saying that the teaser of the film will release on Pongal day but now he is yet to get the background score from Kuralarasan.  He tweeted on why the delay- “#Ina teaser pongaluku varudhu aana background music innum varala ! #yennmma ippadi panrengaley maaaaaaa @iam_str @KuralTR”.

Earlier there were reports about Pandiraj blaming STR for coming late for shoots and now his brother is also getting the similar blame. Idhu Namma Aalu is produced by STR’s father T Rajendar and Nayanthara is playing the female lead in the film.

Nayanthara dubs for 'Idhu Namma Aalu'

For the first time in her career, Nayanthara will be dubbing in her own voice for a Tamil film and it is for STR's Idhu Namma Aalu.

Directed by Pandiraj, Idhu Namma Aalu(INA) is believed to be a fun filled romantic entertainer and Nayanthara plays a character Milli while Simbu's name in the film is Shiva.

The shooting for the film is already wrapped up except for couple of songs. Produced by Simbu Cine Arts, INA will be having music composed by Simbu's brother Kuralarasan and he has already recorded songs with Simbu, T Rajendar and Yuvan Shankar Raja's vocals.

Idhu Namma Aalu is likely to be released on April/ May of 2015.

Jai's cameo for Simbu in 'Idhu Namma Aalu'

Actor Jai is doing a special cameo in Simbhu’s Idhu Namma Aalu and Simbu has confirmed it on his Twitter page.

Simbu tweeted “Instead of #Selfie a Selfie taking pic from #INA shooting spot ... Thanks to @Actor_Jai for the cameo “.

Idhu Namma Aalu has Simbu and Nayanthara playing the lead roles while Andrea and Jai will be seen in an interesting cameos say the sources. Directed by Pandiraj, the film has music by Kuralarasan.

Sources say that Simbu’s Vaalu release has been postponed again due to some financial problems and Idhu Namma Aalu might the screens soon.

Wrap-up time for 'Idhu Namma Aalu'?

Finally, Pandiraj has wrapped up the talkie portions of Silambarasan’s Idhu Namma Aalu. After this, the director will be shooting two more songs in March and the film is likely to be a big summer treat for STR fans.

STR’s 'Idhu Namma Aalu' for Diwali?

It looks like STR is on a roll as the actor’s Vaalu, which was in the cans for almost three years got released and the opening figures have proved his loyal fans base.

In an exclusive chat session with his fans on Twitter, the actor has updated that his next release will be Idhu Namma Aalu (INA).

When a fan asked about the release plans of INA, the actor has said that the movie will release in November. STR also said if not Thala 56, INA will be a Diwali treat.

Directed by Pandiraj, INA has Nayanthara, Soori, Andrea and many others to its star cast. STR is also busy with Gautham Menon’s Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and Selvaraghavan’s Kaan.

'Idhu Namma Aalu' for Valentine’s Day?

STR’s Idhu Namma Aalu (INA), which was earlier slated for Pongal has been now postponed to February 14.

Buzz is that Sri Thenandal Films, who have snapped the theatrical rights of INA will also be releasing two films (Kathakali and Aranmanai 2) for Pongal and hence they have rescheduled the release date.

Also, as INA is a breezy romantic entertainer, the distribution house thinks that Valentine’s Day would be the apt release date. Directed by Pandiraj, the film has Nayanthara, Soori and Andrea playing important roles while STR’s younger brother Kuralarasan is making his debut as a music composer.

Shooting for Idhu Namma Aalu is over except for a peppy song. Meanwhile, STR is currently busy shooting for Gautham Menon's Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada.

Album Analysis:

Mama Waiting
Singers: T Rajendar, Suchithra, Blazee
Much in the lines of ‘Kalasala’,’Yemmadi Aathadi’ & ‘Thaarumaaru’, this track is fully laced with autotune diluting the vocals of T Rajendar and Suchithra. ‘Mama Waiting’ is the customary kuthu track of the album which is aimed at the frontbenchers who are likely to lap up this number. The use of percussions and some dynamic singing by T.Rajendar are the silver linings of this track.

King Kong
Singers: TR Kuralarasan, Shruthi Hassan, Blazee
Foot tapping is the word! ‘King Kong’ sees Kuralarasan himself taking up the onus on himself to render. The voices of the singers have been autotuned in a way that would make Thaman proud. Even Shruthi’s voice is unrecognizable at places. Blazee delivers a catchy rap post charanam. But, the tune never lets the listeners tap out of the hook and remains addictive.

Kaathaga
Singers: STR
‘Kaathaga’ tries to keep it simple and the tune gets aided by light arrangements without any heavy instrumentation. The use of nadhaswaram in the interludes are catchy. The interludes and arrangements have a sense of ease and charanam portions pep up the output.
 
Kanne Un Kaadhal
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja
‘Kanne Un Kaadhal’ takes its own time to get going and the structure of the song is pretty much akin to vintage Yuvan’s tunes. Yuvan himself who handles the rendition delivers adequate filling behind the microphone. The tune is instantly catchy and becomes one of the better tracks of the album.

Oru Thalai Raagam
Singers: STR
Looking aside the obvious reference to TR’s yesteryear superhit title, Simbhu plays it down in ‘Oru Thalai Raagam’ without any jarring histrionics. The tune is mild and is laced with light orchestration which helps the cause of the tune. The composer gels the essence of pathos and romance good enough in his tune and the song is sure to become a radio superhit!

There is also another version of the same track sung by Sriram Parthasarathy without much deviation from the original but it lacks the punch of the original.
On the whole, TR Kuralarasan makes a decent debut in ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ where he has relied on heavy autotuning. The reliance on autotuning though brings out similarities with some of the other contemporary composers. Although his range is yet to be tested, he has certainly delivered a typical Simbu album with very indulgent and foot tapping tracks.

INA team approaches Hansika for a cameo?

According to sources, team Idhu Namma Aalu approached Hansika for a small cameo in the film. Apparently, the team needs just four days call sheet to complete the cameo portions but things are yet to be confirmed.

We also hear that the film’s director Pandiraj has locked the first half of the film while the second half’s BGM and other works will be completed soon. Meanwhile, Pandiraj will be soon shooting the ‘Maman waiting’ song with both STR and Andrea.

Produced by Simbu Cine Creations,  Idhu Namma Aalu has Nayanthara playing the female lead while Soori will be in charge of comedy. Sri Thenandal Films, the TN distributors of the film is planning to release the film on March 24.

Simbu’s 'Idhu Namma Aalu' album creates a record !

Teasers and trailers garnering one million views on YouTube is not a big deal but with piracy hitting the music market, almost all the tracks of STR’s Idhu Namma Aalu have got more than one million views. Not just INA album, STR’s Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada single and the trailer of Idhu Namma Aalu too has crossed more million views. Celebrating this rare achievement, fans of STR have created a hash tag #STRTheYouTubePrince, which is trending on Twitter. STR is currently busy with the shooting of Gautham Menon’s Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and he will also be soon kick starting Adhik Ravichandran’s film .

'Idhu Namma Aalu' gets a clean 'U'

STR's most awaited rom-com, Idhu Namma Aalu has been censored with a clean 'U'. Directed by Pandiraj, Nayanthara plays the romantic interest of STR in the film and Andrea will be seen in an extended cameo.

For the first time Soori has teamed up with STR in this film and their portions are said to have come out well. STR's brother Kuralarasan is debuting as a music composer and all the songs in the album have crossed more than one million views.

Idhu Namma Aalu Review

Some movies just doesn't need a great story to work and keep you engrossed.

 Pandiraj's Idhu Namma Aalu is neither poignant like his Pasanga series nor edge of the seat action entertainer like Kathakali but still entertains to a very large extent.

All credit goes to the effervescent chemistry between STR and Nayanthara along with the comic one liners of Soori,who constantly pulls the leg of our hero by hinting his real life characteristics.

Siva(STR) is a project manager in an IT company and has several break-up stories to his curriculum vitae. The story begins when Siva visits his home town as his dad(Jaya Prakash) wants him to have an arranged marriage. Siva meets Myla (Nayanthara) and his heart melts.

Interestingly Myla is a very strong girl who has a mind of her own and knows about Siva's past. He was in love with Priya (Andrea), Myla's friend but soon on knowing the real reason behind Siva's break up with Priya, Myla agrees for the marriage and everything goes well with plenty of phone calls and gift exchange between the duo until a heated argument breaks between Siva and Myla's dads over a drink!

Now will Siva marry Myla or even this relationship tanks ? Watch on the big screen to know...

The first half of Idhu Namma Aalu is breezy with some cool scenes, especially the initial sulk between STR and Nayanthara along with the flashback portions of Andrea works really well. As said earlier, Soori's one liners are a big plus. Simbu carries the film on his shoulder and his charisma along with immense screen presence is a treat to watch. Nayan not only looks pretty but she scores in the cute love scenes and emotional bit in the end. Andrea in a small role impresses.

On the downside, the film’s second half feels especially labored with few silly phone conversations and cliched ego clash between STR and Nayanthara's families, which slows the tempo. But the climax and humour with it is sure to bring a big smile on your face as we walk out of the movie hall.

Technically, Bala Subramiam's cinematography is glossy as usual and he has beautifully shown the STR- Nayanthara pair while the film definitely need urgent trimming, especially the maman waiting song (STR and Adah Sharma) comes as a speed breaker. Debutant music composer Kuralarasan has scored well in songs and his background score too is quite laudable.

To conclude, Idhu Namma Aalu is watchable for the brilliant on screen chemistry between STR and Nayan, also for the quirky one liners of Soori.
