Aagam Review

If a director attempts something different from the routine stuff with plenty of imperfections, one can appreciate him for the novel idea but it is not easy to sit through a ponderous ride.
Sai (Irfan) is a MBA graduate and he believes that India has not reached its full potential because many youngsters leaving abroad for more remuneration. Motto of Sai's newly formed agency is to encourage youngsters to stay in the country, which certainly irks our baddie Akilash Acharya (Riyaz Khan) as it spoils his business.
The rest of the story is about whether Sai achieves his mission against the mighty opposition of the villains or not…
The problem with Aagam is that there are too many subplots, too many characters and the director wants each and everything must be spoon fed to the audiences. But we only wish someone should have brain transfer him the basic steps of screenplay writing.
Performance wise, Irfan is just okay and he tries too hard to become a full fledged action hero. Deekshitha, who plays as Irfan’s romantic interest looks cute but she does not have big scope to perform. The rest of the actors including Y Gee Mahendra and Jayaprakash are just adequate that their performances cannot elevate the sinking ship.
Technically Saravanan’s cinematography is okay while music by Vishal Chandrasekar is a pass muster. Overall, Aagam is yet another film with interesting idea executed terribly.
