Mo Review

Star Cast : Aishwarya Rajesh, Dev, Muniskanth, Ramesh Thilak
Director : Bhuvan R Nullan

Small time conmen Dev (Suresh Ravi), Sathish (Ramesh Thilak) and Kumar ( Dharbhuka Shiva) sketch a brilliant plan to swindle money by making use of people’s fear for paranormal activities. They hire an experienced makeup man Joseph Chellappa (Muniskanth) and a junior artist (Aishwarya Rajesh) to execute their ghost hunting drama in an apartment.

Few days later, the apartment secretary Vetrivel (Selvah) gets the whole gang red handed but only to use them to lock a lucrative deal. As per Vetrivel’s idea Dev, Sathish, Kumar, Priya and Chellappa visit an old school in Puducherry to drive away a leading real estate investor Senthil Nathan (Mime Gopi).

Though we have seen similar concept in Suriya’s Masss, Bhuvan Nullan’s screenplay and one liners engage us to a major extent. Except for the silly climax, the young team has done a decent job and major credits should go to Ramesh Thilak, Dharbhuka Siva and Munishkanth trio for their comic timing. VJ turned actor Suresh is fine while Aishwarya’s role doesn't have much scope in the film.

Of late, Tamil films have superior sound design and Mo too impresses us in that aspect. Cinematography by Vishnu Sri and music by Sathosh Dhayanidhi are adequate for a small budget horror comedy but the team should have ideally chopped off few repetitive sequences in the second half. The prolonged ghost drama in the second half and the weak climax test our patience that we only leave the movie hall with a mixed feeling.
