End of the Spear – Movie Review

Release Date: January 20, 2006

This is a christian movie inspired by a true story. Starring Loute Leonardo, Chad Allen, Chase Ellison, Christina Souza and Jack Guzman. Directed by Jim Hanon.

It all started in 1956 when a group of missionaries decided to travel to the Jungles of Amazon, with the unique goal of preaching the gospel to the tribe Waodani. It was a hard task because they did not have the same language, ideas, manners, thoughts, that could limit the purpose but they overcame it somehow.

This group always listened to God´s voice. And they endured all kinds of violence by the tribe Waodani. The christian group stayed on course with faith even though five missionaries were murdered. The families of the murdered missionaries decided to travel to that place and stay there to complete the original purpose.

A miracle happened in the tribe and slowly the tribe Waodani realized little by little the real goal of this missionary group. They were touched finally by God´s power. People like Mincaye, one of the murderers Auca, became a Christian after relatives of the martyred missionaries came to live in their tribe.

The most amazing thing of this story is that it does not end here. They are fighting together right now for the development and welfare of these people in real life.

End of the Spear – Movie Trailer

A wonderful movie, that makes you cry, think and urges you to take part in The Mission.

Letters to God – Movie and Soundtracks

A heartfelt tale of inspiration, hope and redemption, Letters to God is the story of what happens when one boy’s walk of faith crosses paths with one man’s search for meaning—the resulting transformational journey touches the lives of everyone around them. The movie will be released on 9th April 2010 worldwide.  The soundtrack to Letters to God compliments the film’s inspirational and uplifting message.

Tyler Doherty (TANNER MAGUIRE) is an extraordinary eight-year-old boy.  Surrounded by a loving family and community, and armed with the courage of his faith, he faces his daily battle against cancer with bravery and grace.  To Tyler, God is a friend, a teacher and the ultimate pen pal—Tyler’s prayers take the form of letters, which he composes and mails on a daily basis.

The letters find their way into the hands of Brady McDaniels (JEFFREY S.S. JOHNSON), a beleaguered postman standing at a crossroads in his life.  At first, he is confused and conflicted over what to do with the letters.  Overtime he begins to form a friendship with the Doherty family – getting to know not just Tyler but his tough, tender yet overwhelmed mom (ROBYN LIVELY), stalwart grandmother (MAREE CHATHAM) and teen brother Ben (MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER BOLTEN) — who are each trying to stand strong against the doubts that come with the chaotic turn their lives have taken.

Moved by Tyler’s courage, Brady realizes what he must do with the letters, a surprise decision that will transform his heart and uplift his newfound friends and community –in an exhilarating act of testament to the contagious effect of one boy’s unwavering faith against the odds.

Inspired by a true story, Letters to God is an intimate, moving and often funny story about the galvanizing effect one child’s belief can have on his family, friends and community.

MOST (The Bridge) – Download Movie

A simple but beautiful and profound story, MOST quietly stuns audiences everywhere it plays. Rich with meaning and symbolism, some viewers have said its better than many feature films they have screened. Indeed, this 2003, 33-minute short earned an Academy award nomination for best short film and went on to win top prizes at three other film festival competitions Dances with Films, Heartland Film Festival and Palm Springs International Short Film festival.

The Plot of MOST the movie:-

A father and son love each other very much. Stargazing or enjoying tea together, the two are nearly inseparable. One day, Lada, the son, asks his father if he can join him at the bridge. The bridge is where the father works as an operator, raising a drawbridge when a boat must pass and lowering it when the train arrives. On the one day that Lada joins his father at work, a train arrives early. Lada tries to alert his father that the train is early, but his father cannot hear him. Father is away, inspecting some machinery. So, the boy rushes to throw the switch manually, enabling the drawbridge to drop and let the train safely pass. But, by the time the father discovers the problem, Lado has accidentally fallen into the drawbridge wheel and pulley mechanisms. The father must make a choice. Save his son and let the train wreck. Or, lower the bridge, save the train and sacrifice his son to the crushing wheels.

Download MOST The Movie Study Guide

MOST goes the extra mile in packing the story with strong symbolic images. Many of these symbols are left unexplained, but the discerning viewer will understand them. MOST lets the viewer see some of the sin and depravity of some of the train passengers. And, it also depicts new life and new hope to one of the train’s most desperate passengers. MOST is not a frontal assault, blatant in its storytelling. It creeps up on your and enters your spirit through the backdoor.

The Salvation of all required the Sacrifice of the one most dear.

Yes, GOD sacrificed His only son for us.

MOST the Movie Trailer :-

MOST stands up there with PASSION OF THE CHRIST and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA as a re-definition quality Christian film making. Download movie Most from the torrentz.com website by entering ‘MOST THE MOVIE’ in the search box there.

He soon finds however that his friend has changed and has become an arrogant conqueror, full of the grandeur of Rome.At first they are happy to meet after a long time but their different politic views separate them.

During the welcome parade a brick falls down from Judah’s house and barely misses the governor. Although Messala knows that they are not guilty he sends Judah to the galleys and throws his mother and sister into prison. When Judah refuses to divulge the names of Jews who oppose Roman rule, Messala decides to make an example of him and sends him off as a galley slave. But Judah swears to come back and take revenge. Through fate and good fortune, Judah survives the galleys and manages to return to Jerusalem in the hopes of finding his mother and sister, who were also imprisoned, and to seek revenge against his one-time friend.

The chariot race sequence in the Circus Maximus (an amazing replica of the one in Rome) is one of the most thrilling and famous in film history. The site of the race, the Circus Maximus in Jerusalem (Judea), was constructed on over 18 acres of backlot space at Cinecitta Studios outside Rome, and the filming of the sequence took about five weeks. Except for two of the most spectacular stunts, both Charlton Heston and Stephen Boyd did all their own chariot driving in the carefully-choreographed sequence.

Movie : The Ten Commandments (1956)

The Ten Commandments is a 1956 motion picture that dramatized the Biblical story of Moses, an adopted Egyptian prince-turned deliverer of the Hebrew slaves. It was released by Paramount Pictures in VistaVision on October 5, 1956. It was directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starred Charlton Heston in the lead role. Co-stars included Yul Brynner as his adoptive brother, Pharaoh Ramesses II, Anne Baxter as Nefretiri, John Derek as Joshua, Edward G. Robinson as Dathan, Yvonne De Carlo as Sephora, Cedric Hardwicke as Pharaoh Seti I, Vincent Price as Baka, and John Carradine as Aaron.

The Ten Commandments is partially a remake of DeMille’s 1923 silent film. Some of the cast and crew of the 1956 version worked on the original. It has since been remade again as a television miniseries broadcast in April 2006.

Adjusted for inflation, it is the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time domestically, with collections of $838,400,000. In non-adjusted dollars, it held the record as the highest-grossing film with a religious theme until the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ. In 1999, The Ten Commandments was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”. In June 2008, AFI revealed its “Ten top Ten”-the best ten films in ten “epics” American film genres-after polling over 1,500 people from the creative community. The Ten Commandments was acknowledged as the tenth best film in the epic genre.

The most spectacular scene in the movie is the parting of the RED SEA. Remember, it was shot in 1956 when today’s animation techniques were not known to man. Its still a mystery how the scene was created. See the video clip below to see the parting of red sea scene and a general story outline.

Movie : The Ultimate Gift (2007)

The Ultimate Gift movie is based on Jim Stovall’s book by the same name. Without a major publisher or marketing plan, The Ultimate Gift book has sold more than three million copies. The author, though blind since age 29, had the insight to inspire readers to see the “bigger picture” of life. The film comes to theaters courtesy of the new FoxFaith distribution label designed to bring high-quality entertainment to faith-based audiences. With its aim toward inspirational and spiritual entertainment, this film hits the ultimate target.

Synopsis of movie : The Ultimate Gift

• Genre: Drama
• DVD Release: August 21, 2007
• Film Release: March 9, 2007
• Distributed by: FoxFaith Movies and The Bigger Picture
• Director: Michael O. Sajbel
• Cast: Drew Fuller (Jason Stevens), James Garner (Red Stevens), Ali Hillis (Alexia), Abigail Breslin (Emily), Bill Cobbs (Ted Hamilton), Lee Meriwether (Miss Hastings), Brian Dennehy (Gus), Mircea Monroe (Caitlin)
• Writers: Cheryl McKay; Based on Jim Stovall’s novel, The Ultimate Gift
• Producers: Rick Eldridge and John Shepherd

Story of The Ultimate Gift

An extremely wise and wealthy grandfather gives his shallow, spoiled grandson the ultimate inheritance. In The Ultimate Gift, Jason Stevens, played by Drew Fuller, learns there’s more to life than money. Instead of the expected cash windfall, “Red” Stevens (James Garner) has prepared twelve gifts to be given after his death to his grandson. The series of gifts, leading up to the ultimate gift, take Jason on a challenging journey of personal growth and self-discovery.

Valuable Elements:

It’s no wonder Jason has turned out to be such a self-centered, lazy young man. He’s surrounded by rich, greedy, dysfunctional, just-in-it-for-themselves relatives. But Jason’s grandfather looks past the exterior and sees something of value hidden in Jason’s character. In his Last Will and Testament he offers Jason a series of “gift challenges” that are wisely designed to bring those rare character qualities to the surface through the refining fire of 12 difficult life-lessons.

Jason learns the gift of work, friends, the value of money, the gift of family, laughter, dreams, learning through pain, the gift of giving, gratitude, forgiveness, love and the gift of a perfect day. Ultimately he transforms into a person of depth and moral strength, receiving the “gifts” that his grandfather knew were far more precious than money. With these gifts, Jason can now make the world a better place.

Abigail Breslin is refreshing, charismatic and heart-capturing in her role as young Emily. While she and Jason discuss heaven she asks him, “Did you know God paints every color in a butterfly with his finger?” While gazing at the open arms of a Christ statue, Jason explains, “I don’t know much about God or Jesus, but I can promise you, those arms are meant for you.” Christian audiences will be pleased to hear the name of their Savior mentioned in a movie theater in this rare, respectful tone.

Gifts offered in The Ultimate Gift:

• If you love your work it’s not a labor.
• Money is simply a tool, not a goal.
• True wealth is measured by one’s friendships.
• We learn through life’s trials, we grow through pain.
• Life’s problems teach us how to use good judgment, which in turn teaches us how to avoid life’s problems.
• Every family, no matter how dysfunctional, has value.
• Laughter is the soul’s medicine.
• Faith can make our dreams realities.
• We gain most when we give ourselves in service to others.
• Gratitude comes from recognizing what we have, not dwelling on the things we lack.
• Living in the present and taking time for the people we cherish, is the formula for a perfect day.
• Love is the greatest treasure. We gain it by giving it away.

Movie : Ray (released in 2004)

The extraordinary life story of Ray Charles. – A man who fought harder and went farther than anyone thought possible.

The Story:-
Ray is the never-before-told, musical biographical drama of American legend Ray Charles. Featuring a remarkable performance from Jamie Foxx in the central role, Ray follows the inspiring story of a one-of-a-kind genius.

Born in a poor town in Georgia, Ray Charles went blind at the age of seven shortly after witnessing his younger brother’s accidental death. Inspired by a fiercely independent mother who insisted he make his own way in the world, Charles found his calling and his gift behind a piano keyboard. Touring across the Southern musical circuit, the soulful singer gained a reputation and then exploded with worldwide fame when he pioneered incorporating gospel, country, jazz and orchestral influences into his inimitable style. As he revolutionized the way people appreciated music, he simultaneously fought segregation in the very clubs that launched him and championed artists’ rights within the corporate music business. Ray provides an unflinching portrait of Charles’ musical genius as he overcomes drug addiction while transforming into one of this country’s most beloved performers.

Ray is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Taylor Hackford (An Officer and a Gentleman); screenplay by James L. White, from a story by Hackford and White; and produced by Hackford, Stuart Benjamin, Howard Baldwin and Karen Baldwin.

The Secret (2006 film) – The Law of Attraction

CLICK HERE to download the full film of 01:30 hours long. (586 MB)

The Secret, a film produced by Prime Time Productions, consists of a series of interviews and dramatizations related to “The Law of Attraction”. Distributed through DVD, and online (through streaming media), the film and the subsequent publication of a book by the same name and of the same topic as the film, has attracted interest from media figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and Larry King as well as criticism from the mainstream press. The film is largely influenced by Wallace D. Wattles’ 1910 book The Science of Getting Rich.

Synopsis:-
The Secret, described as a self-help film, uses a documentary format to present the Law of Attraction. This law is the “secret” that, according to the tagline, “has traveled through centuries to reach you.” The film features the short dramatized experiences and interviews of a team called personal transformation specialists, spiritual messengers, feng shui masters, and other experts. As described in the film, the “Law of Attraction” principle posits that feelings and thoughts can attract events, from the workings of the cosmos to interactions among individuals in their physical, emotional, and professional affairs. The film also suggests that there has been a strong tendency by those in positions of power to keep this central principle hidden from the public. The previews or “clues” to the film, show men who “uncovered the Secret…”.

Teachers of the Law of Attraction:-
The film includes interviews of individuals described as professionals and authors in the fields of quantum physics, psychology, metaphysics, coaching, theology, philosophy, finance, feng shui, medicine, and personal development, who are referred to as “secret teachers”. Some of these individuals, at their Web sites, promote the film and their connection to it. A few of the individuals with only brief appearances do not specifically speak of the “Law of Attraction” in their interviews, so their support of the concepts is based on viewer assumption.

Individuals who focus on the “Law of Attraction”, are interviewed in the film, and have later been featured on prominent American TV shows, are: Rusty G. Parrish, John Assaraf, Dr. Rev. Michael Beckwith, Dr. John Demartini, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, James Arthur Ray, “Dr.” Joe Vitale, Lisa Nichols, Marie Diamond, and Dr. John Gray. Other people involved in the film, who have spoken of their strong belief in the Law of Attraction include Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks (original edition only), Mike Dooley, Bob Doyle, David Schirmer, and Marci Shimoff. Others interviewed in the film, and who voice very similar views without actually using the phrase “Law of Attraction” include: Lee Brower, Hale Dwoskin, Cathy Goodman, Morris E. Goodman, Dr. John Hagelin, Bill Harris, Dr. Ben Johnson, Loral Langemeier, Dr. Denis Waitley, Neale Donald Walsch, and Dr. Fred Alan Wolf.

The film also includes quotes by historical figures, described by producer Rhonda Byrne in the voiceover as “past secret teachers.” Byrne states in the voiceover, “I can’t believe all the people who knew this; they were the greatest people in history.” The people identified include: Hermes Trismegistus, Buddha, Aristotle, W. Clement Stone, Plato, Isaac Newton, Martin Luther King Jr., Carl Jung, Victor Hugo, Henry Ford, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Robert Collier, Winston Churchill, Andrew Carnegie, Joseph Campbell, Alexander Graham Bell, and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Movie : BILLY – The Early Years

Most of us know Billy Graham as the self-assured and charismatic preacher who became one of the most important figures of 20th Century Christianity. Now, with the release of Billy: The Early Years, we meet Billy as the earnest and promising young man at the crossroads of faith and doubt, ultimately facing the moment of decision that launched one of history’s most powerful evangelistic careers.

Most compellingly, Billy: The Early Years paints its portrait of Graham against the backdrop of his relationship with Charles Templeton, another gifted young preacher who’s faith could not withstand the onslaught of scientific skepticism. He and Graham parted ways and in the film, Templeton comes to personify the rising tide of disbelief into which Graham launched his crusades.

Billy The Early Years – Movie Trailer

Filmed in Tennessee, Billy: The Early Years captures the feel of the Depression-era tent revival where Graham heeded the altar call, and follows him through the doubt and resolution of the next decade. The film was directed by the versatile actor/director Robby Benson – the voice of The Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The movie’s power lays in its honest portrayal of Billy’s struggle with the ideas represented in Templeton’s eventual unbelief and shows how Billy’s faith, so dramatically portrayed in the film, goes on to change the face of modern evangelism.

Watch Passion of Christ music video WHY by Nicole Nordeman

About the movie Passion of Christ:

The Passion of the Christ is a 2004 film co-written, co-produced and directed by Mel Gibson. It is based primarily on biblical accounts of the arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, events commonly known as “The Passion”. The film’s dialogue is in Aramaic, Latin, and Hebrew, with subtitles. It was filmed in Italy, exactly in Matera and Craco (Basilicata) and Cinecittà Studios, Rome.

Movie Plot:-

Jesus is tempted in the garden by a personified Satan, who appears as an androgynous albino. Mary, mother of Jesus, awakes from a dream with feelings of foreboding and quotes from the Passover Seder, Why is this night different than other nights, and Mary Magdalene replies with a traditional response: Because once we were slaves and we are slaves no longer. When questioned by Caiaphas, Jesus pronounces the ineffable Name of God in his response, which justifies Caiaphas’ subsequent charge of blasphemy before witnesses. Herod Antipas is depicted as an effeminate pederast. The people in the crowd that demand the freedom of Barabbas rather than Jesus have been paid to do so by Caiaphas. What follows is HIS sufferings on the road to Kalveri, soldiers lashing him all the way, blood splashing everywhere. On reaching the mountain, Jesus is nailed and crucified, seeing which will make any man on Earth cry bitterly.

The movie ends with Jesus’ resurrection and exit from the tomb, the holes in his hands from the nails visible as he walks. Please watch the above music video on Passion of Christ. To see pictures from the movie, goto Passion of Christ pictures.
