'Innimey Ippadithaan' audio review

Cast: Santhanam,Ashna Zaveri,VTV Ganesh
Music: Santhosh Dhayanidhi
Lyrics: Madhan Karky,Kabilan,Gaana Bala,Gaana Vinoth,Dr.Uma Devi
Direction: Muruganand
Album Analysis:

Inimey Ippadi Thaan
Singers: Karthik,Aishwarya
“Inime Ippadi Thaan” is a short, harmless listen that has been composed in a way to be used in typical ‘hero meets heroine’ kinda situation. In most probability, this track will be a montage shot alongside the visuals.

Azhaga Aanazhaga
Singers: Harini
“Azhaga Aanazhaga” is a semi classical-kuthu fusion jabbed together with funny lyrics. The song does entertains and the shifts between the two genres inside the same track is handled well. The extensive use of flute is commendable too.

Athana Azhagayum
Singers: Varun Parandhaman, Sophia Ashraf
“Athana Azhagayum” is probably the album’s best track mainly due to its catchiness. There is a foot tapping element right throughout the entire song. The song has two rap portions fused with the main pallavi. Highly addictive tune!

Aathula Oru Kaal
Singers: Mahalingam, Thalapathi,Sapta
“Aathula Oru Kaal” is a typical love failure track where a ‘kuthu’ tune gets a nadaswaram treatment. The song somehow lacks the standout element to make it distinct from many such similar songs. Didn’t work for me though.

Paatha Oru Lookula
Singers: Gaana Bala
The composer makes this tune catchy and foot tapping enough to make this track standout from the usual Gaana Bala numbers. Music channels are going to air this number repeatedly and the song is going to go places as the youngsters are going to go gaga over the lyrics.

Thedi Odunen
Singers: Santhosh Kumar Dhayanidhi, Aalap Raju
A short romantic track lasting for couple of minutes. The composer himself wields the microphone. The chorus portions form the song’s USP. The “Unna Vida” segment is the high point of the song.

On the whole, Santhosh Kumar Dhayanidhi makes a confident debut in ‘Inime Ippadithaan’. The tracks appear fresh and the tune’s catchiness is the biggest usp of the album.

Clean 'U' for Santhanam's 'Innimey Ippadithan'

Santhanam’s Innimey Ippadithan has been censored with a clean ‘U’ and the running time mentioned in the censor certificate is 134 minutes which indicates that movie might be a crispy entertainer.

Directed by Murgan and Anand of Lollu Sabha fame, Innimey Ippadithan also has two heroines Akila Kishore and Ashna Zaveri.

Newcomer Santhosh Kumar Dhayanidhi has composed the music for the film and already the songs are getting good reception. The audio launch of Innimey Ippadithan has recently happened at Sathyam cinemas with the presence of Arya, STR, Rajesh and Gautham Menon.

Produced by Santhanam’s home banner Handmade films, Innimey Ippadithan  is looking for a grand release on June 12.

Innimey Ippadithaan Movie Review

Director: Murugan-Anand
Cast: Santhanam, Ashna Zaveri, Akila Kishore, Thambi Ramaiah

It’s Santhanam's second outing as hero. The storyline and structure is similar to any other Tamil film in the rom com genre.  However, what makes it different is its treatment by debutant directors Murugan-Anand.

The film mainly works out because of the well written comic one liners, smart packaging and some unexpected twists and turns towards the climax. Seenu (Santhanam) is a happy go lucky guy; everything goes well in his life until an astrologer predicts that he should get married within three months.

By the time Seenu's parents scout a girl for him, he falls in love with Maha(Ashna Zaveri) but she keeps on ignoring him. At one point of time, Seenu says yes to an arranged marriage with Akila (Akila Kishore) due to the family circumstances and pressure mounted by his cunning uncle (Thambi Ramaiah). Later, Seenu understands that Maha actually played a prank and she is indeed in love with him. What happens next? Watch out on the big screen.

Santhanam looks fresh and he is full of energy, whenever the film loses its tempo the actor lifts up the mood with his trademark one liners which constantly generate good laugh. Though the actor is confident, a little more effort in dance and emotional scenes would make him a pucca hero material. Both the leading ladies Akila Kishore and Ashna Zaveri look cute. Especially the latter have to work on her lip sync. The surprise packet is Vidyulekha in a special appearance.  Thambi Ramaiah  is hilarious as Santhanam's cunning uncle while Aadukalam Naren and VTV Ganesh also deserve a special mention.

Technically, Santhosh Dhayanidhi's  music is the biggest strength of the movie as all his songs are peppy and energetic while Gopi's cinematography has given a grandeur feel within the limited budget. Also, Antony L Ruben's idea of locking the running time to 134 minutes has certainly helped the movie.

Though Murugan-Anand's idea of making a comic entertainer with an important message is laudable, one should wait little longer to know how audiences are going to accept the unexpected yet logically perfect twist in the climax.
