The Dominican Republic is home to a large number of highly rated and very popular beaches, most of which are all acclaimed to be the best beaches of the Dominican Republic. 1. Cabarete



Cabarete is a town in the Dominican Republic which is within the province of Puerto Plata and is a highly popular destination amongst tourists from all over the world. The town was founded in the nineteenth century, in the year 1835 to be exact when it was founded by Zephaniah Kingsley who bought his family and over fifty slaves here to live with him. All of these years on, the descendents of both the Kingsley family and the slaves still reside here today. The town has a bay, known as Cabarete Bay which is a popular place for water sports and also regularly plays host to some small and more well known professional kitesurfing competitions.

2. Playa Grande   



The Playa Grande area is a highly popular destination for its golfing, which is why many keen golfers visit the area to embark on a trip of golfing fun and games. However, in addition to the ever so fantastic and well known golf course in the town, Playa Grande also possesses many wonderful beaches too. The Playa Grande beach has a long, idyllic stretch of 1, 600 metres of white, soft, smooth sand which runs along the crystal clear blue waters of the sea that it flows next to. Isla Saona is an area and also the name of a beach that can be located on the island of Saona (Saona Island) which is situated to the southeast tip of the mainland Dominican Republic. It is a tropical island that is located just a short distance away from the mainland and is both a very natural area, as well as a terrific place to visit to enjoy its beaches.
