Salina is one of the Aeolian Islands and is another one of those quiet beaches where you can relax and enjoy some alone time without the fear of being disturbed. The island itself has just 4,000 residents, so if you are looking for a chance to get away from it all without having to fly halfway around the world then look no further. It is included as a World Heritage Site because of the volcanoes on the island, but you don’t need to worry because there hasn’t been an eruption here for 13,000 years. Tuscany is of course famous for its rolling countryside, but but thre are plenty rolling beaches here as well, and none is better than the beach at Viareggio. The city is a seaside resort and is home to a carnival once a year in late March. There is sun here all year round, with minimal rainfall and gentle humidity. That said the heat is manageable, with the average high being about 20 degrees, so it is an ideal place to take the kids and for those with sensitive skin. If you are operating on a budget or want to go all inclusive then look at this endless stretch of coastline at Molise. The agricultural town has changed a lot in recent years, becoming a real tourist trap. There are plenty of brilliant restaurants to supplement your all inclusive stay and as a tourist town there are few places that are better equipped to deal with a young family. Although it has become a popular tourist destination in recent years, it is still nothing like as intense as some of the Italian Islands, so you can still enjoy a bit of privacy and quiet on a budget at a family resort.
