Pushpa  Review

Star Cast : Allu Arjun, Rashmika, Sunil, Fahadh Faasil
Director : Sukumar

Director Sukumar’s Pushpa is a brilliantly written action drama that deals with the smuggling racket of red sanders in Tirupati forest and how an ordinary guy Pushpa becomes the head of the syndicate!

Pushpa (Alu Arjun) doesn't have an identity for himself that often people mock him as he is not a legitimate child. But Pushpa is street smart, he somehow defeats all his enemies through his brilliance, cunningness, and sometimes loyalty! Pushpa slowly rises to the top and even become the head of the syndicate.

Allu Arjun has completely surrendered himself to Sukumar and delivered an uninhibited performance. Some scenes are not tailor-made for the usual heroes but Allu Arjun understands that Pushpa is no gentleman and has pulled it off! Rashmika Mandanna has nothing much to do but provides the glam quotient and her character also paves way for a small twist!

But the supporting actors are good, especially Sunil and Ajay Ghosh! Fahadh Faasil only arrives in the last twenty minutes of the film, he is a menacing as the corrupt cop who demands respect from Pushpa and humiliates him!

The second half of the film has pace issues, once Allu Arjun starts defeating his villains one by one! The climax confrontation scene between Fahadh and Allu Arjun, however, increases our expectations for the second part - Pushpa: The Rule!

Technically, the cinematography is excellent capturing the risky stunts shot in the interior forest. Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are peppy and lovely , especially the Saamy Saamy track and Ooo Solriya Ooo Solriya. Samantha’s special appearance raises the heat!  On the down side, it is too long and the background score is weak. Talking about the Tamil dubbing, the quality is quite good and appealing throughout.

To conclude, Pushpa is a lengthy action drama… if you fall in love with the dark world of the protagonist, you might end up liking the film!
