Yennamo Yedho Movie Review

Director: Ravi Tyagarajan
Cast: Gautham Karthik, Rakul Preet Singh, Prabhu
Music: D Imman

Straight off the bat, the Gautham Karthik - Rakul Preet Singh rom com Yennamo Yedho directed by Ravi Thyagarajan is heartbreakingly disappointing. The film a remake of Nandini Reddy’s Telugu hit Ala Modalaindi is a pale version of the original.

Ala Modalaindi worked big time with the viewers because of its lovable lead pair Nani and Nithya Menen and their terrific on screen chemistry. The sad part of Yennamo Yedho is that the lead pair lacks charisma and their romance falls flat. Added to that the plot is hackneyed, romance is half baked and lead pair is unimpressive.

The film begins with an accident. Gautham (Gautham Karthik) is abducted by Chakki (Prabhu). On the way Gautham is forced to narrate his tale and he talks of stopping a marriage and Chakki too talks of preventing a wedding. The story moves to the flashback. Gautham tells how he fell in love with Nithya (Rakul Preet Singh) at the wedding of their ex-lovers!

The film is supposed to be a light –hearted and breezy take on love but ends up as a boring disjointed film as it lacks a proper script. Gautham Karthik just can’t emote while Rakul Preet Singh dialogue delivery and lip sync go horribly wrong. Nikeesha Patel is truly disappointing, while Prabhu is over the top and irritating. D Imman’s music is ok, with ‘Nee en periya appatakkar..’ being the pick of the lot.

On the whole Yennamo Yedho is pure Chinese torture.
