Will KB get a statue?
The film fraternity has urged the Tamil Nadu government to erect a statue of veteran director K Balachander, who passed away recently. Also, the government has been requested to name a statue in Mylapore after him.
According to Tamil Nadu Thiraippada Iyakkunar Sangam (TANTIS) office-bearer R K Selvamani, “Balachander deserves to have a statue and a street named after him.”
TANTIS is also planning to hold a week-long film festival to screen Balachander movies. Also, attempts are on to rename TANTIS office building after KB.
