2. Powder Gate

Only a few streets distance you can come across something really tall, impressive and ancient. This is the enormous Gothic construction of Powder Gate, which originates back to the end of the medieval. It stretches high above the streets and the surrounding historical buildings as a reminder of the bygone eras. Eras, when Powder Gate played a major role as one of the entrances to the historical town of Prague. Presently, you can still pass beneath the huge arch below the tower, while its scenic Gothic ornaments and decorations can always remember the atmosphere in around the 15th century. Then, climb atop the tower, change the point of view, and enjoy the breathtaking perspectives of the Old Town of Prague from about 45 meters above ground.

3. Wenceslas Square

Prague in the nighttime is also majestic, colourful and beautiful, and you may need even a whole night to enjoy all these fabulous sensations, but Wenceslas Square is definitely a place that you can't miss. This long and spacious boulevard stretches right next to the State Opera House and it is also bordered by a multitude of historical houses. Among them you can find the magnetic night lights of Wenceslas Monument and the National Museum, for example. Numerous green gardens provide another refreshing accent to the entire historical atmosphere, while from the one end of Wenceslas Square is situated the junction of the Old Town and the New Town of Prague. What a perfect choice to make a transition between modern and historical? Or maybe vice versa?

4. Vysehrad

Even if you choose to stay back in time, another great idea is to enjoy a trip to Vysehrad castle. It is scenically located on a smooth green hill, right along the bank of Vltava River. You can take advantage of plenty of settings to enjoy this castle, first because of its awesome location. It is easily remarkable from quite a distance along the river, while probably the best pictures can be enjoyed from the opposite bank of the river. The huge darker towers of the castle dominate the green hill and they remind the bygone eras through quite a majestic way. It comes to about 10th century, but the most fabulous touch to this era can be felt by visiting the castle complex from inside. There is also a huge basilica and other historical constructions, while the green environment and the calm picturesque walkways can always be transformed into the finest places for a relaxation and captivation, for example.

5. Old Town Square

The Old Town Square is a magnificent place to stay in the historical atmosphere of Prague and this square is also surrounded by series of buildings with a couple of towers. It comes to a Gothic church and a Baroque church, whose tall towers stretch high above the skyline of the Old Town Square as eternal beacons of history. Somewhere between the buildings stretches another tall tower - the Astronomical Clock, which originates from the medieval. Obviously, the Old Town Square offers a real journey between the centuries, but perhaps the best place to enjoy this atmosphere is during a refreshing cup of coffee in one of the many cafeterias or restaurants around the square. The coming and going people also depict the dynamic atmosphere of the square through a captivating way.

6. Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge is one of the most famous, bustling and probably one of the most mystical bridges that cross over Vltava River. It is located right in the historical Downtown and it originates from 14th century. Nowadays, during a trip along Charles Bridge you can come across numerous huge statues, shops and kiosks, while the stunning vistas are simply everywhere. The majestic silhouettes of a tower and a dome soar high above the buildings from the one side of the bridge, while the blue waters of the river often change into a vibrant natural mirror, especially at sunrise. The panoramic vistas are something that you will never forget, too.

7. Petrin Lookout Tower

Then, from the left bank of the river you will also be surrounded by numerous steep narrow streets, dotted by historical houses, eateries, shops... A number of green parks and recreation areas are best for leisure, especially during the hot summer months, while somewhere within the highest points of this green scenery stretches the giant steel construction of Petrin Lookout Tower. The best thing is that you can climb atop the tower and enjoy breathtaking panoramic vistas from the observation deck, especially on a clear day. Petrin Lookout Tower offers some of the highest vistas of Prague.

8. Prague Castle

Prague Castle is one of the most significant historical sites in the Czech Republic, thanks to its enormous size, impressive historical and cultural legacy, as well as plenty of striking sights to witness. Even a whole day might be insufficient to explore all the buildings, basilicas, towers, museums and other interesting sights within the castle complex. Plus, keep in mind that all these vistas change throughout the day, for example, at sunset all the historical facades are magically bathed in the golden sun's rays. A few moments later the day turns into a night and the soft night lights of Prague Castle provide a wealth of romantic sensations. Then, imagine the journey that awaits you if you choose to visit the castle from inside.

9. Dancing House

However, Prague also possesses an impressive modern outlook and one of the greatest places to enjoy it is during trip to the Dancing House. This surrealist building is a truly inspiring sight to witness, thanks to its unparalleled "dancing" shapes, as well as numerous windows that create a rounded glass tower. The overall vision of the Dancing House is stunning, especially at night, when it is lit in its vivacious night lights, while dozens of coming and going cars deliver an enhancing fusion of lights and sounds.

10. Jindrisska Tower

Everything in Prague during the night becomes quite more mystical and flamboyant, but Jindrisska Tower offers maybe the greatest contrast between modern and historical. It is located nearby Wenceslas Square and it has a well-distinctive late Gothic architectural design. Viewed from the other side of the street, the mystical shapes of the tower are dominated by several towers and pinnacles, while the night lights deliver a comprehensive harmony between shades, shapes and lights. Jindrisska Tower is also an impressive sight to witness in the daytime, when you can take advantage of the amazing panoramic vistas from an observation deck. There are also a number of other amenities, such as a gift shop, cafeteria and museum.

From the numerous iconic historical landmarks, to an even more abundant variety of picturesque parks, amenities and attractions - the capital of the Czech Republic can change your vacation into a truly spectacular experience. It is only enough to include in your trip all or at least a few of the Top 10 Prague interesting locations you must visit, Czech Republic, as well as have a solid memory card on your camera, and a joyful mood, of course. Then, plan your trip and dive yourself into this magnificent combination of history and culture, which is named Prague.
