Home Remedy for Vomiting

Causes & Symptoms of Vomiting
 
An ejection of food and liquids from the stomach, through the contraction of the stomach muscle, is called vomiting. Also known as emesis, vomiting leads to the expulsion of solids as well as liquids, from the stomach. There are many reasons for vomiting like overeating, drinking excessive alcohol, pregnancy, migraine, infections, flu, upset stomach, etc. At times, vomiting is also one of the symptoms for a major disease as well. Its own symptoms include increased saliva, dizziness, light-headedness, difficulty in swallowing food or liquid, changes in skin temperature and increase in the rate of heartbeat. In the following lines, we have provided some of the home remedies of curing vomiting.

Home Remedy For Vomiting

One of the effective ways to cure vomiting would be to have ginger tea. Make sure it has less amount of sugar.

Chilled lime juice also proves effective in treating vomiting. In a glass of cold water, squeeze 1 lime. Add sugar and salt to taste. Put in some ice, to chill it. Drink this mixture after every two hours.

If the vomiting is due to excess intake of alcohol, eat a slice or two of bread slowly, so that it soaks the liquid.

Do not eat any solid food until after 12 hours of vomiting. Instead, have loads of vegetable juices, water and other non-acid drinks. Then only, start having solid foods, such as mashed potatoes, rice and oatmeal.

On a non-stick pan, heat 2 cardamoms. Once heated, crush them to form a powder and add a tsp of honey to it. Have this several times a day.

Prepare a mixture by combining 1 tsp each of mint juice and lime juice, with 1/2 tsp ginger juice and a tsp honey. Have it 2-3 times in a day.

Boil a cup of water and add a tsp of cinnamon or one cinnamon stick to it. Steep it for sometime and strain the water. Now, add a tbsp of honey, for sweetening it. Have this decoction 2-3 times in a day.

Holy Basil, catnip and peach bark tea are helpful for treating vomiting. You can have them in any form you like.

A tsp of onion juice, taken after every two hours, proves beneficial in curing vomiting.

Mix ¼ tsp powdered ginger, 1 cup apple juice and ¼ cup water together. Blend the mixture well, until the ginger gets dissolved, and add enough ice to make it slushy.

Mix 1 tbsp each of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of normal water and drink it before going to bed.

Put some cloves, cardamoms or a cinnamon stick in your mouth. This is an effective way to treat vomiting.

Cut a lemon into two halves. Sprinkle some rock salt on one of its piece. Lick this piece till all the juice runs out.

Boil ½ cup of rice in 1 to 1½ cup of water. When the rice gets cooked, strain the water and drink it. It will help cease vomiting.

Intaking half a tsp of grounded cumin seeds, along with water, is helpful in stopping vomiting.

Avoid too much of oily, spicy food, heavy and indigestible food, when you are suffering from vomiting.

Home Remedy for Whooping Cough

Causes & Symptoms of Whooping Cough
 
The bacterial infection in lungs, caused by bacterium Bordetella pertussis, is called whooping cough. A contagious disease, it leads to severe coughing, which may or may not be accompanied by vomiting and perspiration. Some of the common symptoms of whooping cough are sore throat, mild dry cough, sneezing, tears, tiredness, loss of appetite, night cough, vomiting, retching, nosebleeds and diarrhea. Though it starts with a mild cough, whooping cough develops into severe coughing, if not treated on time. Whooping cough can, however, be treated with home remedies as well. Read on to know about them.

Home Remedy For Whooping Cough

One of most effective home remedies for whooping cough would be to have a cup of grape juice, mixed with a tsp of honey, on a daily basis.

Soak 7 almonds in water, overnight. In the morning, remove the brown skin and pound the almonds, to form a paste. Now, add 20 grams each of butter and sugar. Consume the paste two times a day, in the morning and evening.

Finely chop an onion and extract its juice. Mix 1 tsp of this juice with 1 tsp of honey and keep it aside. Consume it after four to five hours.

Crush a medium-sized onion and add the juice of one lemon to it. Now, pour a cup of boiling water over it and add a tsp of honey. Take this 2 to 3 times a day.

Roast and powder the root of turmeric. Take 3 grams of this powder, along with milk, two times a day.

Mix 2 grams of the pulp of the herb of belleric myroblan, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp long pepper and 2 tsp honey. Have this mixture two times a day.

Dry the herb of belleric myroblan and cover it with wheat flour. Now, roast the herb and consume it.

Grind 100 gm of raisins, with water. Add 100 gm of sugar to the paste. Once it forms a saucy consistency, preserve it. Have 20 grams of this mixture everyday, before going to bed.

Aniseed is helpful in treating whooping cough. Prepare a tea with it and have it 1-2 times in a day.

Extract garlic juice and have a tsp of this, 2 to 3 times a day. This is an effective way to treat whooping cough.

In a cup of water, add a tsp each of fenugreek seeds and fresh ginger, along with a dash of honey. Bring the water to a boil and allow it to cool. Strain the drink and consume it.

Mix 5-6 drops of almond oil and 10 drops each of ginger juice and onion oil. Have this mixture three times daily.

Cut a small slice of ginger and dip it in some rock salt and lemon juice. Store this in an airtight container. Lick this whenever the cough attacks.

Mix a tsp of fresh radish juice with equal quantity of honey. Add some rock salt and form syrup. Consume this every 8 hours.

Take a tbsp of carrot juice, mixed with some honey and warm water. This proves beneficial in treating whooping cough.

Home Remedy for Wrinkles

Causes & Symptoms of Wrinkles
 
The loss of elasticity and moisture in the skin leads to wrinkles. Mainly seen with old age, it leads to sagging skin. Wrinkles usually appear when the collagen and elastin present in the connective tissue of the skin weaken or decrease in number. The areas most affected by wrinkles are face, neck and hands. The most prominent symptoms of wrinkles are lined and creased skin and sagging skin. While age is the predominant cause of wrinkles, others include over exposure to sun, smoking, pollution, drug use, stress, weight loss and loss of vitamin E from the body. However, wrinkles can be treated naturally as well. In the following lines, we have provided some of the most effective home remedies for curing wrinkles.

Home Remedy For Wrinkles

One of the best home remedies for wrinkles includes eggs. Apply beaten egg whites on the wrinkled skin. Let it dry and then wash off.

Another effective home remedy would be to empty the contents of 3 Vitamin E capsules in a small bowl. In this, add 2 tsp plain yogurt, 1/2 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp lemon juice. Using a cotton ball, apply this mixture on the face. After about 10 minutes, rinse it off.

Prepare a mixture by adding 1/4 cup each of comfrey infusion and witch hazel, along with 10 drops of patchouli essential oil. Store the solution in a bottle and apply on the affected area with a cotton ball, every night.

Applying coconut oil on the wrinkled skin is considered to be a good home remedy. However, make sure you apply it only before going to bed.

Take a little turmeric powder and add sugarcane juice to it. Form a paste and apply it on the wrinkles. Once dry, rinse it off the face. This is a useful way to get rid of wrinkles.

Take a green seedless grape and cut it into half. Now, rub one of the halves on the wrinkled face. Leave it for 20 minutes, before rinsing off with warm water.

Rubbing the core of a pineapple on the wrinkled area also comprises of an effective home remedy. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, before washing it off with warm water.

Another helpful home remedy would be to apply the juice of green pineapples and apples on the face, everyday, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Apart from removing the wrinkles, it also helps in healing cracked skin.

Applying lemon juice several times a day is likely to be effective in getting rid of the wrinkles.

In 2 cups of water, add half cup of rosemary leaves and simmer for half an hour. To this, add half cup of brandy and leave on flame for 10-15 minutes. Let the mixture cool down, strain it and store. Use it to wipe the face twice every day.

Another effective way to treat wrinkles would be to have a tbsp of shredded ginger with honey, as it will provide the skin with a healthy glow.

Put a metal spoon in the freezer overnight. In the morning, keep the back of the spoons on the eyes. Apart from curing the eye wrinkles, it will help in removing dark circles.

In a bowl, mix 2 tbsp vodka, 1 tbsp fennel seeds and 2 tsp honey. Leave the mixture for three days. Thereafter, use it as a toner.

Massage the wrinkled area with castor oil. This would be helpful in removing the wrinkles.
