2. Tunisia

If you have ever seen the new Star Wars movies then you have already been introduced to Tunisia as the new additions to the many films have been filmed in the country over and over again. You might not be able to tell this by watching the films because the scenes are quite diversified and this is the aspect that brought filmmakers to the country to shoot the desert scenes. Star Wars Episode: 1 all the way through Episode: 4 were all shot on location in the country, aside from the green screen work of course. For the "Mighty Python” fans out there you will be glad to know that the Mighty Python movie "The Life of Brian” was filmed in Tunisia as well. To top it off "Raiders of the Lost Ark” was also had the majority of filming done in the diverse land too.

3. Hawaii, USA

It is obvious why almost every film you see that has a majestic, calm and pristine beach scene is filmed in Hawaii because the Hawaiian Islands are truly a place of paradise. From independent films to major productions, the islands have accommodated a wide variety of scenes. The diversity and Jurassic nature of much of the islands opens the doors for some movie sets that just couldnt be found or replicated anywhere else. A popular scene that is shot on the islands is surfing scenes of movies and the ability to produce the image of the in real time on the islands is very easy to do. The land itself and the small fishing villages can magically turn into another place on earth once it is captured on camera and this is something that keeps filmmakers coming to the islands to produce wonderful films. Aside from the movies Hawaii is just a great place to relax.

4. Thailand

For foreign film producers Thailand is one of the most popular places to stage their films as it can be just about anything from itself or the rainforest of the Amazon. A unique aspect of Thailand is the availability of exotic animals and vast rainforests that havent been impeded by deforestation on a large scale. This allows directors and motion picture producers to capture the right scene in the perfect envisioned setting. Thailand was actually the filming site of one of the James Bond classics "The Man with the Golden Gun” and the hit movie "Rambo”, which was filmed in 2007. There are numerous other big name movies that were filmed in the country as well, such as "American Gangster”. The flexibility that the law provides in the country allows for an easier production too. What more can a film producer want in a location? Bangkok? Thats right Bangkok is in Thailand.

5. Vancouver, BC, Canada

Vancouver, Canada is one of the locations in the world that has been the starting and ending point for many motion picture productions and the movies that have been shot in the city are plenty. The famous filming site is known well throughout the film industry for its many one of a kind areas and districts, such as its Chinatown, coastal wildernesses and its huge metropolises. When it comes to film locations in North America Vancouver just falls in third place following closely behind New York and Los Angeles. Some of the more recent films shot in the city were "50/50” and all the follow ups in the Twilight saga. The scenes of the Twilight saga do a good job in showing the nature of the city and the country of Canada. Another film that many people are aware of is the 1999 hit Jumanji, which was also filmed on site in Vancouver.

6. Scotland

Scotland is the bearer of some of the best and most well-known films in the world and the vast expansive of beautiful and hilly lands are the reason the films were shot in the country. Hardcore Harry Potter fans probably knew already that many of the films from the saga took advantage of the marvelous lands of Scotland including "The Prisoner of Azkaban”. Aside from the mighty impact that the Harry Potter films had on the world there were some other heavy hitting films shot in Scotland as well. One of the most recognizable older films is the movie "Brave Heart”, which is a film for most people that they can watch over and over without fail, the gory scenes are just what most guys expect in a film. Mission Impossible, The Da Vinci Code, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Highlander are some of the other smash hits with scenes from the country.

7. Philippines

The Philippines give many reasons for being a great place on the earth to shoot movies and it being so remotely populated is one of those reasons. Having areas that have little to no population has given the country the ability to make room for film producers to capture nature at its finest. One of the most common movie scenes taken from the Philippines is soldiers or Navy Seals wandering through the dense rainforests in search of their targets, such as seen in the movie "Delta Force” starring Chuck Norris, everyone reading this article make a note of this fact, when it involves Chuck Norris you dont want to be wrong, he may know it! The Philippines provides filmmakers with unique picturesque scenes that can be found anywhere else, especially when it comes to thick, lush greenery covering misty mountains. The Pilipino way of life in the small villages brings life to the big screen too and this is a perk to filming in the country.

8. Kenya

Kenya like many places in the continent of Africa brings a passion into the big screen that cant be found anywhere else in the world, it is seen in the eyes of the native people, the pain, the struggle and the need for hope. This is really a good thing but when it comes to filming in the area it supplements movie scenes like you would have never imagined. Kenyans are glad to participate in movie productions and do a great job in creating the feeling of movie scenes. Kenya has everything you would expect from such a multi culturally diverse place and the land is just as or more diverse than its multinational population. Kenya is famous for its many wild Safari lands and its capital city Nairobi. Beach vistas and crocodile filled rivers can all be found in the country, mainly in the wild game reserves which there are around 5 in total.

9. Boston,MA,USA

Good Will Hunting, Mystic River and The Departed, amongst many other highly awarded films were filmed in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. The city itself has so many different atmospheres that just about any screenshot can be had, unless of course it is set in a dessert but when it comes to city based themes Boston delivers. The gangster era movie scenes are commonly filmed in the city in the historic districts and there is something about the Italian feel that brings light to the gangster feel of the city. Leonardo DiCaprio has had many of the films he acted in shot in Boston, aside from "The Departed” such as "Shutter Island”. The list of hit movies shot in Boston could go on forever, especially in the realm of major productions, the city has given the film industry a major contribution for years and it is likely it will continue to do so in the coming years too.
