Hibernate or Sleep, Which one is best for your Laptop?
Did you ever confused between Sleep and Hibernate
terms?
Which one is best for a low running laptop? Please see few
important tips while you concern about your battery backup
and data loss.
Sleep Mode: When you sleep a computer, it saves your state
to the RAM. Sleep state maintains the memory ON,
refreshing, and also some input devices (keyboard, mouse) while most subsystems are off. If
left unattended, sleep mode will completely drain the battery in a few hours or overnight. This
complete drainage of the battery is very, very bad, because it drains to nearly zero, as the PC
will not wake up by itself to do a full shutdown when the battery reaches a low critical point.
Also, all your data is gone.
Hibernate Mode: When you hibernate, it saves your state to the hard drive. Hibernation saves
all data to disk and completely shuts off all systems in any PC. There is no power drain at all,
and the PC will restart even after several months or as long as the charge holds in the battery or
line power is restored without any data loss.
