'Savaale Samaali' audio review

Cast: Ashok Selvan,Bindhu Madhavi,Oorvasi,Nassar,Manobala
Music: SS.Thaman
Direction: Sathyashiva

‘Savaale Samaali’ is a forthcoming Tamil flick which stars Ashok Selvan & Bindhu Madhavi in lead roles. SS Thaman, high after the success of ‘Thamizhuku En Ondrai Azhuthavum’ wields the composer reigns. Let us see how the album has turned out:

Ethanai Kavignen
Singers: Karthik
Instant Chartbuster! ‘Ethanai Kavignen’ is a typical montage material with foot tapping beats and charming lyrics. Karthik eases off through the vocals and Thaman maintains the rhythm constant throughout the song. The ‘Anbe’ segment is really the high point of the track. Undoubtedly, best track of the album.

Nallavana Kettavana
Singers: LR Eswari, Anthony Dasan
‘Nallavana Kettavana’ brings back the autotuned LR Eswari from ‘Kalasala’. The lyrics are targeted at the youth depicting a gaana from a girl’s viewpoint. The arrangements are familiar giving us a dejavu. A track made to please the masses!

Penne Penne
Singers: SPB Charan
SPB Charan is superb throughout the song & he gets even better as the song progresses. The ‘pallavi’ is pulled off in an effortless fashion. The fillers & mild instrumentation portions also deserve a mention. A soothing listen!

Savaale Samaali
Singers: Palakkad Sriram
The title track sounds too boisterous trying to be more powerful than the tune could carry. The track does remind us of ‘Nimirundhu Nil’ from Saroja and both the tracks carry similar resounding arrangements. Probably, the weakest track of the album.

Yaaro Yaaro
Singers: MM Manasi
The charming ‘Penne Penne’ gets a solo female version in the form of ‘Yaaro Yaaro’. It is refreshing to listen to Manasi in a non-fast paced track. ‘Yaaro Yaaro’ retains most of the charm of its original and comes out as a winner.

After a highly impressive ‘Thamizhukku En Ondrai Azhuthavum’, Thaman delivers yet another impressive album which shows us again that melodies and romantic duets are his strong zone. With endearing tracks like ‘Penne Penne’, ‘Ethanai Kavignan’, the album has definitely raised the bar for the visuals.
