Job Description
Accountable to the Global IT Manufacturing Director, and as such attends the director’s staff.
- Is accountable for the uptime results for the facility and driving all downtime issues to closure
- Participates fully in driving the improvements across IT as required to ensure project delivery and improved uptime
- Participates and drives problem management for all critical incidents (Severity 1 / Severity 2) for the facility.
- Will track and maintain a list of all critical incidents, the root cause trigger event, the permanent resolution plan, and drives/tracks the resolution into production.
- Owns and drives Availability Management initiatives for the facility
- Is accountable for Change Control for the facility
- Interface between IT and Operations management and gather requirements from business partners and compile the IT project roadmap
- Manage communications both regional and global after IT incidents on the daily Business Pulse Calls.
- Manage communications with the facility director and IT Senior Management
- Own the facility scorecard
- Represent the detail on projects and be accountable for the deliverables of all projects into the Chennai Manufacturing facility
- Accountable for driving the improvements across IT as required to ensure project delivery and improved uptime in the manufacturing facility
- Primary Owner for IT problem management for all critical incidents (severity 1 / severity 2) for the Chennai Manufacturing facility.
- Responsible for IT Availability Management for the Chennai Manufacturing facility
- Fully participates in the Business Control Room and works closely with the on-site Factory Incident Manager and Control Room to resolve all IT issues.
- Be part of Regional and Global cross functional teams identifying areas for cross functional improvements
Will adhere to all Dell IT Standards and SOX Compliance regulations
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal English
- Educated to degree level, preferably in an IT related discipline, with a relevant experience.
- General IT expertise and knowledge of ITIL processes an advantage
- Flexibility is a pre-requisite for this role
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
- Ability to perform a wide variety of administrative duties in overall systems design, development, and delivery
- Demonstrate extensive creativity and expertise in information systems discipline.
- Strong analysis and communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Advanced documentation/presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Dell offerings and toolsets used on projects
- Working knowledge of the Dell Supply Chain and Manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interact effectively with Regional and Global contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
