2. Saint Mark's Basilica   



Saint Mark's Basilica is definitely a place that you don`t want to miss. The whole structure of this cathedral church is seen from far away, because, five domes rise majestically over the charming cityscape of Venice. Moreover, right next is situated the nearly 100 m. tall St. Mark's Campanile tower. However, Saint Mark's Basilica is a very captivating from outside, then from inside. The exterior is a symbol of the Byzantine and the Gothic architecture, including also numerous statues, sculptures and other details, which invite you to take a photo after photo. Plus, hundreds of pigeons are usually an integral part of the whole environment, as well as a very inspiring addition to the outlook of the Saint Mark's Basilica. 4. Rialto Bridge   



Rialto Bridge is the biggest stone bridge over the Grand Canal. This is also one of the most famous bridges in Venice, thanks to its amazing arch structure with a walking path through the middle. 5. Grand Canal   



Grand Canal is the main water route in Venice. Nearly 4 km. long, the Grand Canal connects the railway station to the west and the St. Marks square to the east through a scenic, wonderful and impressive S-shaped water corridor. The Grand Canal is bordered by a plenty of Venetian, Renaissance, Gothic and Neoclassical houses and other interesting buildings. Indeed, the best way to taste the spirit of Venice is through a gondola ride among the Grand Canal, especially on sunrise or sunset. 6. The Bridge of Sighs   



The Bridge of Sighs is located alongside the Doges Palace and is a very attractive place to visit. An incredible arch-shaped limestone bridge with windows rises a few meters above water, to create a very idyllic ambient. The history of the bridge is also fabulous. Indeed, this was a path between the prison and the Doges Palace. Via the windows, the convicts saw their last views to the splendid canals of Venice. Thus derives the name of the bridge. Presently, the Bridge of Sighs is another place that people picture when they think of Venice. 7. St Mark's Campanile   



Also in St. Marks Square is located the St. Mark's Campanile, overlooking the Saint Mark's Basilica and the Doges Palace. The St. Mark's Campanile is a 98.6 meters tall tower, which is so inspiring and impressive that you will need a lot of memory for your camera. 9. San Giorgio Maggiore   



San Giorgio Maggiore is a picturesque and historic island, located a few minutes south of the St. Marks Square. This is the easternmost island of the Giudecca group islands, where you can come across a church, monastery, library and a tall tower.
