Superstar Rajinikanth opens up on 'Kabali' release

While leaving to New Delhi for receiving the prestigious Padma Bushan award, Superstar Rajinikanth has interacted with reporters at the Chennai airport.

The 65 year old actor said that his gangster flick Kabali will be releasing by last week of May or first week of June. Directed by Ranjith, Rajinikanth plays an aged don in the film and Radhika Apte will be seen as his romantic interest.

Kabali also has ensemble of stars including ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Dhanshikaa, Kishore, John Vijay, Nassar and Riythvika. Santhosh Narayanan has scored music for Kabali and by next month, we can expect a formal announcement on the  grand audio launch of the film.

Reports say that Kabali’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu is making arrangements to host the audio launch in Malaysia.

Rajinikanth starts dubbing for Ranjith's 'Kabali'

Superstar Rajinikanth has wrapped up the Delhi schedule of ‘2.o’ and commenced dubbing for his upcoming gangster flick, Kabali.

“Dubbing starts !!!!magizchi!!!!!@theVcreations”, wrote the film’s director Ranjith on Twitter.

Being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, audio launch of Kabali is likely to happen on May and theatrical release will be on June/July. Superstar Rajinikanth plays an aged don in the film and Radhika Apte will be seen as his romantic interest.

The film also has Dhanshikaa, Kalaiarasan, ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh, John Vijay and Nassar in important roles. Santhosh Narayanan has scored all the songs in the film and he will also be soon commencing the background score composition.

Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' to release in July?

Now the big question in trade circles is when will superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali release? The superstar in a passing interaction with the media said it would release either in the last week of May or early June.

The producer of the film Kalaipuli Thanu in a video interview said : “Rajini sir has started dubbing for the film, and censor will take place shortly. After the film is censored only we can technically announce the release date. The release should happen very soon, will keep you posted about it.”

 Meanwhile sources in the trade say, Kabali release date will be decided only after a new government takes over in Tamil Nadu. Thanu who has been having a running battle with the trade over the Theri Chengalpet issue, will have to sort it out.

Rajini completes dubbing for Kabali, teaser form May 1st?

A little birdie from Kabali camp says that the makers are planning to unveil the teaser on May 1st, International Worker's Day as the film’s core plot is based on the importance of working class community.

Reportedly Superstar Rajinikanth has finished dubbing for Kabali and he was recently seen in Le Magic Lantern (Four Frames) dubbing theater in the city. 

Directed by Ranjith, the audio launch of the film is likely to happen in Malaysia by next month and theatrical release will be on July.

Rajini's extra effort for 'Kabali'

Thanu's V Creations have confirmed that they will be releasing the first look teaser of Superstar Rajinikanth's Kabali on May 1st, International Worker’s Day and the film too is said to be based on the importance of working class community.

We also hear that while dubbing for the film, Rajini has asked the director to give him some time to prepare. Normally the Superstar would complete dubbing in one or two days but for Kabali, the actor has taken five days.

 “Superstar Rajinikanth has watched his sequences in Kabali and told us that his characterization needs a different modulation and enhanced the scenes with his expertise”, said a source close to the unit.

Directed by Ranjith, the film also has Radhika Apte, Dhanshikaa, Kalaiyarasan and ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh in important roles.

Kollywood is excited about 'Kabali' teaser

Release date of Superstar Rajinikanth’s films is like festival for millions of fans in Tamil Nadu. But after the advent of social media, the actor’s teaser and trailer release too are celebrated not only by fans but also by celebrities in Kollywood.

 On Friday, Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations made an announcement that Kabali teaser will live on their YouTube channel at 11 AM on May 1st.  After the announcement, Kabali’s music composer Santhosh Narayanan posted on Twitter “Dear May 1st. Can you please arrive faster ? The fan in me taking over my sanity  #KabaliTeaserOnMay1st”.

Pizza and Jigarthanda’s director Karthik Subbaraj, who is also a big fan of Rajinikanth too is excited about Kabali teaser, he tweeted “Warming up my phone,TV, laptop & all gadgets that connects to Internet,as it has to play nonstop from tomorrow..Vaa THALAIVAAAA!!!‪#‎Kabali”

Kabali teaser: 'Magizhchi' is the word

Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' teaser makes history!

In 22 hours, Kabali teaser has clocked in more than four million views and two lakhs likes, which is a record for any South Indian film.

Till now, only Ajith and Vijay have created records for Tamil film teasers and trailers but Rajinikanth has shown Kollywood that he is a superstar even in the current age of social media, while other actors are way behind him.

Directed by Ranjith, the audio launch of Kabali is likely to happen by the end of this month. We also hear that the film might either release by June last week or for Ramzan weekend
