'Vaa Deal' audio review
Cast: Arun Vijay,Karthika Nair
Music: SS Thaman
Direction: Shiva Gnanam
Album Analysis:
Vaa Deal
Singers: Suchith Suresan,Sooraj Santhosh,Megha,Senthildass,Sam P Keerthan
The title track arrives! The track has flavor of Thaman’s theme songs in Businessman,Dookdu & Baadshah. With lyrics that boast of heroism and percussion based arrangements that suit the tempo, ‘Vaa Deal’ is a winner albeit sounding nostalgic.
Andharu Andharu
Singers: Velmurugan
‘Andharu Andharu’ is straight out of Thaman’s telugu jukebox. Velmurugan’s vocals in the similar genre has gone past beyond what listeners could take. The song has enough for the visuals to be enriched with dance moves. Didn’t work for me though.
Pesi Pesi
Singers: Haricharan
‘Pesi Pesi’ is straight out of Thaman’s templates. Right from ‘Aathadi Aathadi’ to ‘Ethanai Kavignen’, the track is in Thaman’s familiar territory. Haricharan delivers the rendition with little help from the backing chorus.
The Deal Theme Song is an interesting theme music which slightly reminds of Thaman’s previous themes in Businessman & Meghamann. Sound of Deal is an instrumental kuthu theme where in all probabilities, Arun Vijay would showcase his dance skills.
On the whole, after impressive outings in ‘Meghamann’ & ‘Savaale Samali’, Thaman hasn’t lived up to that sort of form with ‘Vaa Deal’.
Picks from the album: The Deal Theme Song, Vaa Deal
Album Verdict: A template Thaman outing!
