7. Museum of Fine Arts

Almost on the opposite side of the Torres de Serranos gate you can come across the Museum of Fine Arts. It is one of the most interesting buildings to visit along the old riverbed of River Turia and it is also a great choice to spend a few hours or even a whole day in contemplation of the most famous Spanish artworks. For example, paintings by Velazquez, van Dyck or Goya, as well as sculptures of Mariano Benlliure. And the entrance is free. Overall, inside the museum you can easily travel within the history, while the paintings from the recent century are actually a state of modern art. And all this is only inside the museum. The exterior of the building features an awesome Baroque architecture from around 17th century and it is definitely a delightful accent to the surrounding green landscaping.

8. Torres de Quart

Torres de Quart is another significant historical landmark, which was a part of the ancient medieval defensive wall around the center of Valencia. Built in the 15th century, the Torres de Quart gate also features a twin-tower construction, but it has a diagonal shape, because of the angle of the roads along the gate. Nowadays, the late Gothic architectural style of the twin-tower gate is an impressive sight to witness during a scenic walk within the western section of central Valencia. Make sure to bring your camera as well, because the vistas of the sun's rays, which are magically absorbed by the walls of the gate are spectacular, especially at sunset.

9. Plaza de Ayuntamiento

Right in the heart of Valencia is situated the famous Plaza de Ayuntamiento. This is the largest square in Valencia and it has a triangular shape, while the tip of the park is separated by a large roadway. However, exactly the tip of the park (the northern side) is one of the most beautiful areas to enjoy a relaxing hour on a bench, for example. Even just going through the square, you will be captivated by a large round fountain and picturesque multi-coloured gardens. The lowest (southern side) of the square is best for taking photos, because on the one side is situated the City Hall building with its impressive facades, towers, windows and a central clock tower. This is a truly irresistible sight to take a few stunning photos, especially at twilight, when the night lights of the City Hall are gorgeously blended to the green trees along the square and the infinite turquoise sky.
