Top 10 Greek Islands

1. Santorini

Santorini is a famous volcanic island of the Cycladic group of Greek islands. Under the surface of the island, which is considered the most romantic Greek island, a smouldering volcano is hidden. It is believed that its eruption 3600 years ago was the reason for the disappearance of the mythical Atlantis. Pretty whitewashed houses, church domes coloured in navy blue lit up by bright sunshine - this is a typical landscape for Santorini. But this paradise island has much more to offer. There are fantastic beaches, the most unique ones all over the Greece - the black quartz beach of Kamari, the White and the Red beaches. Santorini is a small island, but it is the cradle of a variety of landscapes. The things you should not miss to do there are countless but be sure to go for a walk along the volcano's caldera from Fira to Oya, to climb and see the ancient Thira, to dive to a depth of 14 meters from the wreckage of the ship near the volcano and to admire the stunning sunset over the Oya, which is incomparable.

10. Milos

The Greek island of Milos completes Cyclades archipelago, in the south-western direction, and is located at a distance of 87 nautical miles from Piraeus. Milos is one of the most magnificent Greek islands. Of course, can neither boast the dramatic scenery and fantastic sunsets of Santorini, nor the nightlife of Mykonos, but has an incredibly beautiful volcanic landscape, sparkling white rocks, a maze of underwater caves and narrow long bays, endless beaches, shores, decorated with a string of whitewashed houses, azure blue, bright red or emerald green doors and windows. Each of the nations has left its footprints in the culture of Milos; Greeks and Romans - the well-preserved amphitheatre and the famous statue of Aphrodite or Venus de Milo,  Byzantines - the magnificent  churches, Venice - a castle, behind whose thick stone walls locals were hiding during pirate raids. Sunsets of Milos are among the most remarkable in the Aegean Sea so don't miss to see that symphony of colours.
