Team 'Masss' moves to Bangalore

As Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja has announced that Masss will be releasing on May 1, the entire team is working 24*7 to make sure that the film releases on time.

Sources say that the team is currently in Bangalore for completing the remaining talkie portions and they will be shooting in the city for another ten days.
After Bangalore schedule, they will be returning to Chennai to shoot two more songs in the film and it might happen in April.

Our sources say that the producers have asked the VFX team to kick start the CG works so that there won’t be any delay in the release plans.

Masss has Suriya, Nayanthara, Pranitha, Premgi Amaren, Samuthirakani, Parthiepan and many others to its star cast.

Exclusive-Thaman replaces Yuvan in 'Masss'!

Yuvan Shankar Raja who is the music director of Venkat Prabhu directed Masss has been replaced by SS Thaman!

The grapevine has it that Yuvan who did not deliver the songs on time has irked Studio Green the producers and hero Suriya. Remember that Masss team has already announced the release date as May 1 and the unit is working round the clock in brisk pace to finish the film on time. A lot of CG work has to be done as Masss is a supernatural thriller.

A source from the unit says that Suriya was mighty pissed off as Yuvan did not deliver the song on time and whatever he gave, were not up to the mark. The production unit  had already planned  to shoot this particular song with Suriya and Nayanthara at Mohan studio where a huge set was erected.

So Thaman was roped in by Studio Green in the last minute and he quickly remixed a hit number from Hindi film R... Rajkumar. For obvious reasons, director Venkat Prabhu seems to be upset with Suriya's decision and on condition of anonymity our sources say that a miffed Yuvan  who heard about the replacement has refused to compose the background score of Masss hence there is a huge confusion prevailing in the unit.

Mean time, Masss cinematographer RD Rajasekar is busy with AR Murugadoss' Hindi film and hence Venkat Prabhu has roped in Sakthi Saravanan to shoot this particular remix composed by Thaman and Baba Bhaskar is the choreographer.

Suriya starts dubbing for 'Masss'

Suriya has recently finished shooting a peppy song with Nayanthara for director Venkat Prabhu's Masss.
 
As the actor will be soon moving to Mumbai for his upcoming film 24, he has already kick started dubbing for Masss. Despite being a Sunday, both Suriya and Venkat Prabhu were found at a popular dubbing studio in Chennai.

Masss also has Premgi Amaren, Samuthirakani, Parthiepan, Karunas , Pranitha and many others to its star cast.

Touted to be a supernatural action thriller, the film has four songs composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Thaman has been roped in for one remix number and he might compose the background score as well.

According to the producers of Masss, the film will be releasing on May 1.

I am the music director of 'Masss', says Yuvan

Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja held a press meet to announce May 9 as the date of his grand concert at Tirunelveli. He also added that Puthuyugam TV will be the television partner and the funds from the concert will be used to plant trees across Tamilnadu by Green Trees Solution.

Called as U1Musical Express, the concert will have his father Ilayaraaja, sister
Bhavatharini, Venkat Prabhu, Premgi and top singers from Kollywood and Bollywood.   As a part of the event Maestro Ilayaraja will perform the most memorable medley of his songs and will also be honoured for composing music for over 1000 songs.

Yuvan answered all the questions from the media about his secret marriage, opposition from his dad, and why he was keeping away from public eye and press. On the Masss controversy of Thaman replacing him, Yuvan said that “it was with my consent that one song of Thaman was used in the film. As Nayanthara dates were an issue the team was forced to shoot this particular song and that’s why Venkat took this decision. I will be doing the background and RR for the film”

Yuvan also added that he has slowed down on number of films and he will be soon starting work on Selvaraghavan project with STR in the lead. In Telugu he has taken a conscious decision to work only in superstar films.

Suriya's 'Masss' teaser on April 14?

According to sources close to the Masss unit, the first look teaser of the film will be out for Tamil New Year (April 14) and currently the team is shooting for a song at a grand set erected at AVM studios.
 
Sources say that the song will be shot in five different sets and the visuals will be spectacular for sure. Mean time, one re-mix number which is composed by Thaman might be used only for promotions and will not feature in the film say the sources.
 
Masss has Suriya, Nayanthara, Premgi Amaren, Samuthirakani, Riyaz Khan and many others to its star cast.
 
Produced by Studio Green, Masss is likely to be a May release and the team is also simultaneously completing the dubbing.

Will Suriya's 'Masss 'make it on May 1?

Studio Green the producers of  Suriya’s Venkat Prabhu directed Masss had earlier announced that the film will release on May 1. But as per trade sources the work on the film is yet to be completed and post-production is going on in full swing.

Meanwhile other producers like UTV had zeroed in on May 1 and gone ahead with theatre booking of their SP Jahanathan directed Arya-Vijay Sethupathi-Karthika Nair action packed  Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai And Magic Frames the makers of Vikram Prabhu’s Idhu Enna Maayam are also looking for May 1 release. Arun Vijay has also tweeted that his Vaa Deal  will hit the screens on May day.

Meanwhile Kamal Haasan’s big budget Ramesh Aravind directed Thirrupathy Brothers produced Uttama Villain which was supposed to release for Tamil New Year on April 10 has been postponed. The new release date thrown around is May 1.

Remember Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), has also issued a dikat that big hero films that cost more than Rs 15 Crore can only release during festival or important national holidays (May 1, August 15). Already Tamil New Year date has lapsed, and now only May 1 remains in this quarter. It means Mass and Uttama Villain has to release on May 1, otherwise will have to be pushed to July 17 Ramzan (Eid) release date!

Studio Green spokesperson says that they will stick to May 1 release date and will shortly start booking screens.  The spokesperson said :“ The shooting of Masss is over and the actors are busy completing the dubbing work. The VFX and graphic work is going on simultaneously.”

At the same time there is no clarity from Uttama Villain producers of a clear release date, as some financial issues have to be sorted out.

Venkat Prabhu is working on 'Masss' teaser

There was a buzz that Masss team will be releasing the first look teaser of the film on April 14 but as they are working 24*7 on the post-production, the teaser release has been delayed.

Many Suriya fans have expected the teaser today and the film’s director Venkat Prabhu has apologized for the delay and he said that the team is working on the teaser now.

The shooting for Masss has been wrapped up and sources say that the VFX portions are consuming more time.

Studio Green announces 'Masss' release date

Studio Green, the producers of Suriya’s Masss have officially announced that the film will be releasing worldwide on May 15th. It will be an interesting battle on May 15 as Masss will now clash with UTV's Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai

Though there is a buzz that the film with lots of VFX work,  will be pushed to some other day, the producers  confirm that all the work will be completed and the team is working 24*7 to complete the post production work of the film.

Shooting over for 'Masss', on track for May 15

Its official, Suriya’s Masss has been wrapped up and the last day patch up work shoot happened yesterday (April 18).

Sources say that Yuvan has started composing the background score for the film and the  editing and CG works are also progressing at a brisk pace.

Suriya's 'Masss' first look out, audio launch soon

The first look poster of Suriya’s Masss was revealed midnight (April 23) by director Venkat Prabhu.

Just like any other Venkat Prabhu movie, Masss too comes up with an interesting caption ‘A Venkat Prabhu Sixer’. Remember the director used unique and catchy captions including ‘A Venkat Prabhu Holiday’ in Goa,  ‘A Venkat Prabhu Game’ in Mankatha and ‘A Venkat Prabhu Diet’ in Biriyani.

There is a speculation that Masss has six characters and the caption ‘A Venkat Prabhu Sixer’ is justifying it.

Mean time, the film’s music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has handed over the master CD to the producers and the team will be soon announcing the audio launch date.

Suriya's 'Masss' teaser is pucca mass

The teaser of Suriya’s Masss has been released and it is already making a big wave in social networking sites. The visual begins with a voice over of Suriya who utters the famous ‘Ethir Pakkalala’ dialogue from Singam followed by ‘This is my f***ing game’  line from Thala Ajith’s Mankatha.

RD Rajasekar’s cinematography and stylish color tone have given a grandeur feel to the film. Especially a glimpse of Bulgaria portion in the teaser looks magnificent while Yuvan Shankar Raja’s pulsating – trendy background score elevate it to a different level.

As usual Editor Praveen KL has reserved his best work for Venkat Prabhu and it is very much evident in the slick teaser cut.

In the 84 seconds teaser, Suriya is seen as a cop, a con and in the end he has been shown in a vampire like getup which has definitely increased the expectations.

Eros music snaps 'Masss'

The teaser of Suriya's Masss is ruling the social networking sites as wishes from movie buffs and industry people are being shared in their respective Twitter pages.

The latest information is that the audio of Masss has been snapped by Eros Music for a whopping amount.

Sources say that Masss' music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has already handed over the master CD to the film's original producer Studio Green.

It is worth to mention that Eros International has bagged the worldwide theatrical rights of the film and now they have snapped the music rights as well.

Suriya’s Masss team is working round the clock to make sure that the film releases on May 15. Sources say that the VFX enhancement of the film is happening in Mumbai with a big team of experts working on it.
