Kollywood horror films in 2014

If rom-coms were the trend in 2013, horror was the most sought after genre in the year 2014. Let's have a quick glance on the list of horror films released on 2014.

Yamirukka Bayamey

Yamirukka Bayamey was the first horror film of 2014 and it went on to become a super hit venture at the box office. The combination of horror and comedy worked in favor for the film.

Aranmanai

Though Aranmanai was an old fashioned predictable horor comedy, the star cast, and marketing helped the film to get a good opening. The film has been declared as a hit venture at the box office. Again comedy and horror seems to be lynchpin of the film.

Ra

Ra was a promising decent horror-fantasy flick of 2014. The film got decent reviews while the collections were not encouraging. Debutant director Prabhu Yuvraj had done his homework well but the film didn't really take off.

Oru Pandhu Naalu Run Oru Wicket

The film opened with poor reviews and poor collections. Debutant director Veera's stint at horror misfired and it was a damp-squib. The worst case is that OPNRO had no scary moments in it, and the director's intention was to make a family-friendly horror movie.

Mysskin's Pisaasu is doing tremendous business at the box office. The film opened with positive reviews and within 3 days the film has netted 2.86 crs in Tamil Nadu. Adding the satellite rights, the film is already a hit for the makers.
